The original flannel dudes have maybe three shirts. They are all red and black. They smell like sawdust and beer and sometimes chainsaws. (Old fish gut stains on the sleeves.)
Thanks to Alan in Seattle for alerting me of the new shows in the Pacific Northwest. I will do my best to navigate the presale, although I’ve never done it before. I’m determined to make this show, as it may well be my last opportunity to see Neil & The Horse. After all; the venue is only 30 minutes from where I live. Hopefully I’ll finally get to meet up with Thrasher. Maybe others as well. I’ll update when I know I have a ticket.
Peace 🙏
2 days and coming fast ! I'll be in Phoenix getting stoked. Bring on the setlist. I see he's coming back to same Bend venue as last summer.
I have been hoping for a TW meetup in Boise. There are some reasons why I probably cannot attend. One possible reason is a coworker already has those days off. I am also short on PTO vacation hours & $! But I am a lucky bastard to be able to attend SDSU show, not feeling sorry for myself. But some unforeseen expenses have come up, cars quitting, kids graduating college, etc.
Bend OR is a great venue, and ya don't even need to buy a ticket to hear the show. But it's on a Thursday, I am still low on PTO, etc. I want to go to Boise, and it’s possible I could be in Bend somehow without buying a ticket.
To be continued. Your Brother Alan in Seattle
There is a recreation park next to the Bend venue. You can park, set up chairs, have a picnic, hear the show quite well outside the 8,000 person Carlson Homes Amp. You can be on a pedestrian bridge over the river listening, or on the south side of the Deschutes River & listen from “Beverly Hills on the River” aka downtown Bend.
Just realized I know a guy from childhood who lives in Bend. Maybe do some couch surfing!
Most likely I will only be able to hit 2nd show of tour in SD.
I wish you all well, and hopefully Europe is the next announcement, this year or next.
Your Brother Alan in Seattle
@ Dan : Thrasher gets the credit for alerting me lightning fast. And I am so glad we may be able to meet up finally at the venue of our choice, that is, @ a Neil Young concert! I hope Thrasher & some TW regulars might show up, maybe even some International fans!
It figures the moon is 99.5% full tonight. I can feel the pull! I am energized! Or is the Neil Young concert excitement? Both?
@ Thrasher : I hope you can hit Boise. It’s not the tiny venue I was hoping for but it will do! It looks like I will make it out there to meet up!
It’s pretty funny that the PNW shows were added right after I “invited Neil to come play on TW.” Truthfully I had no insider info, just asking for a miracle is all…. And boom, along comes a miracle. I don’t mean that in a religious way. The Deadheads of old used to walk around with signs saying “I Need a Miracle.” One ticket please! But miracles do happen every day. We can overcome things or get thru stuff that seemed insurmountable. We can walk through low funds or bigger pain and see a light on the other side.
Your Brother Alan in Seattle
Happy for you all that Neil is going up to PNW, I'd love to try and make it but I have other commitments in July.
A few tips after my recent successful experience with the Hollywood presale for the uninitiated. Sign-in to Livenation/Ticketmaster. Sign-in on another tab to NYA and go to the NYA tickets page. Keep refreshing the browser and then the tickets for the shows with the link and presale code should appear a couple of minutes before the official start time for the presale.
Select pit (if luckily the show has one) or, if seats, do not freak out if you select a Platinum seat. The NYA seats are mixed amongst the Platinum seats (why?) and so you have to keep clicking until you find that NYA wheat amongst the chaff. Not cheap but the best seats in the house are available for a fraction of the Platinum price. Don't hang around, they go in minutes.
Good luck!
@ Dan : I am “Over the moon” about the Boise show! My overall impression is that we live in a benevolent (Neil Young & Horse) universe! I am so impressed by you NY fans. I am practically speechless at the moment. Dan, thank you so much! We will be close enough to catch a drumstick. Miracles happen every day. I was the guy holding the “I Need a Miracle” sign, and Boom! So stoked!
@ Thrasher & Abner : Nice flannel collection! I only have 6, no black & red, Abner, but I have been wearing them a lot since 1983. It was punk rock until I realized it was Neil Young!
@ All y’all: Any TW readers / fans want to meet up in Boise? Say the word!
Your Grateful Brother Alan in Seattle
I’m just so happy to be in the position to make this show. I had a friend at work help me through the process, which was great. My first try I got as far as (submit your order) and I timed out at the last second. So I had to go through the whole process again, and then, success. Personally I don’t think the technology makes buying concert tickets easier, but like Neil said in one of his responses to a letter….”it is what it is”.
Regardless of my aversion to technology I was able to capture two excellent seats. The last concert I attended was Dead & Co. at The Hollywood Bowl on June 3rd 2019. Those two tickets were gifted to my wife and I from a good friend from work who had something come up and couldn’t go.
My heart tells me that my wife is really happy I took the leap of faith to make this happen. She was such a big fan of Neil, and this could quite possibly be my last chance seeing Neil & The Horse live. One never knows really, but the universe has decided that I will experience the unforgettable triumph of The Horse at least once more before I die.
Peace 🙏
