I actually have an old Alesis microverb in a box hidden away in the basement. I guess I'll dig it up and see what more distortion I can bring into this world.
This brings to mind something I'd like to hear more about: the effects and pickups used on his acoustic guitars - they have such a full,rich sound!
I've heard he uses the trance amulet system, which is an expensive obscure system that provides a stereo image for acoustics. If someone knows more, please enlighten me! Does he really use this, is it only on certain guitars, what effects does he use on acoustic guitar sounds when recording or playing, etc.
