Yes, Everybody Knows "Live Music Is Better" - Spring 2021 Edition
Well, yes, as we discussed throughout 2020 everybody knows "Live Music Is Better", of course.
Last night, we enjoyed with our friends a tribute concert to Little Feat at The Birchmere in Alexandria,
Virginia.
The evening brought back memories of the days of Little Feat and the irreplaceable Lowell George. We're so fortunate that we saw Lowell George and Little Feat in their prime back in the hazy '70s. Here's the encore from last night, the classic "Dixie Chicken", live in 1977, with Emmylou Harris and Bonnie Raitt.

So, just continue to Keep Calm, No Fear, and Keep on Rockin'!
After all, isn't all about the "Ordinary People of RUST"?

I was fortunate to see Little Feat live at the Paramount Theatre in Portland back during the Waiting for Columbus tour. While we waited in line the band were barbecuing on the fire escape right above us and Lowell George threw down a few joints to us and we had a great conversation with him about his time with Frank Zappa. What a wonderful person he was. Such a generous and gifted musician. I’ll never forget that experience and what a killer performance from an incredible band.
Peace 🙏
Awesome to see the love for Lowell George, one of the true greats.
Love me some Little Feat.
By pure accident I have recently acquired their entire 70's output on original vinyl and can't stop playing them. A permanent place in my collection for sure. I've heard them referenced many times but had little recognition.
If you be my Dixie Chicken, I ‘Lk be your Tennessee Lamb... 😂. Live music is better.
Totally sober and still can’t spell. Alan in Seattle
I saw them once after Lowell George died. He was obviously the creative force in that band. They did put on a good show still. Late 80’s with Allman Brothers.
Pandemic’s concert memories as did what we could for our favorite venues: 25 People in 550 seat Birchmere for Allman Betts Band. 10 people for Steve Forbert in 200 seat Jammin Java. This Thursday Galactic at a drive in concert at the county fair Grounds and Richard Thompson coming to Jammin Java in June! Waiting to see if Farm Aid will be at an amphitheater or a family corn field sitting on hale bales.
Thanks to all the fans of Little Feat & Lowell "Fat Man in the Bathtub" George.
Lowell was definitely a musical force who like so many left way too soon.
@ Setz - that's cool that you're checking out the FEAT. Definitely spin Waiting For Columbus. An amazingly recorded live album. Our understanding was that something like 64 microphones were used to record into a truck outside venue, Lisner Auditorium in DC.
A very intimate venue as you hear from the acoustics. We've seen many a memorable concert there, including Joan Baez.
It's not though. Exhibit A: "Country Girl" on DEJA VU
