Well that's it Thrasher. I be watching from home too. Caller number 6 this morning! Had to be 9.
We were callers 2 &4 on Wednesday, so close but no cigar.

Well remember Syscrusher, numbers add up to nothing--I'm sure you'll enjoy the show from the comfort of your home.

Hey, is it just me, or was anyone else expecting the archives site to be open this morning (today), December 1st? Well, I guess technically there wasn't a specific time for the launch, but I can't be the only one who sort of assumed December 1st meant the morning, but I can wait.

I suppose it's possible the site will open tonight with the stream of his show, but as always, ole' Shakey keeps us guessing...

Topanga,

I was expecting this morning, too. We’ll see how the site shapes up.

As to the concert, it’s not meant to be attended by a wide audience. That’s what the stream is for!

It's currently LIVE!!

A couple of things:

-From the looks of the timeline, it looks like The TTN Roxy show, Odeon Budokan and The Boarding House are going to be the live releases for Archives Vol. 2.
-Early Daze, Homegrown, Chrome Dreams, and Oceanside Counryside are up as unreleased albums during the Vol. 2 timeframe or earlier. Dune and Time Fades Away II aren't.
-Other unreleased albums in the timeline: Solo Trans, Crazy Horse Garage (1986), Live Freedom, Toast, and Alchemy (between Americana and Psychedelic pill)
-The Eldorado EP also appears to be on here, as well as various singles (minus the Italian PIOTE)
-There's also all kinds of video throughout the years that appears to be accessible in the timeline. You can also see his tours (the lines below his albums and above the timeline), historical NY events (the tags), when songs were recorded (the dots directly below the timeline), and historical world events (the lines at the very bottom)

Update: so depending on where you click on the timeline, Time Fades Away is listed as a released AND an unreleased album. So I would guess by this that TFA II is still in the cards.

I think the website has been really thoughtfully designed. Obviously it will need a significant amount of new/extra stuff (documents, films, concert recordings etc) added before a subscription becomes an attractive proposition, but first impressions are very promising. Let's just hope it is maintained for more than five minutes. That's the main concern with an online based archive: is it going to stand the test of time in a way that dvd-audio, blu-ray and pono did not?

A Neil solo show is always a special occasion, tonight should be no exception.

Hey, just mucking around a little on the site to figure out the navigation a little better, and it looks to me like the original Time Fades Away isn't available to be played.

Am I missing something here? I know Neil doesn't like the album, but what does he know!

Live Archives -
a gift never contemplated and completely welcome. Better than the box and book of Archives#1. Neil continues to innovate past normal expectations. Here's to the past, tonight the present and tomorrow the future!

Only glitch I have experienced is the tunes are cutting off about 1/2 way or so...is that to extend the greedy hand to score the buy?

As far as I can tell, a number of the albums aren't playable. I spotted 'Life,' 'Landing on Water', 'Old Ways', and Everybody's Rockin' with no play buttons on either the album or any tracks. Licensing problems?

I've had the same problem with audio cutting out, though only on hi-res. It just stops and doesn't start again (the track time keeps ticking along). Works fine with 320.

Great layout! Hope they get all the music up there soon. Is there any unreleased music that's playable? I saw there are the placeholder albums.

One way of transporting a grand piano , a standup and pipe organ to Omemee .... spend a few dollars on Canadian Crude oil.
Real interesting .... Dirty old men are being held accountable for their crimes against women..... Yet dirty old polluters like Neil Young that have burned more fuel than any everyday people continue to preach and pollute without accountability .
The arrogance and the nerve to get on stage and sing songs about respecting Mother Earth .
Shame on you Neil Young !

Really enjoyed the concert last night in real time. They shot some nice "bokeh" shots around the piano and thought Daryl & the crew did a fine job with that.

Had a lot of fun wondering through the early years of the archives with all the images Joel B. took that I had not seen before and the documents and, of course, the music.

Was kind of hoping for more reviews (Springfield, early CH and CSNY) but copyright issues might stand in the way of that. Remember I sent Elliott clips of mine from the Ypsilanti Press (Rust Never Sleeps at Pine Knob), and three from weekly Variety in NYC (International Harvesters, Solo/Trans and the Grey Riders) plus the Willie Nelson interview that Neil arranged for me before the debut of Farm Aid.

Had two copies of the 1974 CSNY wrap-up in Rolling Stone that came up backstage in conversation, and Elliott didn't, so I sent that in for the archives, too.

Can't remember if sending the full Rolling Stone issue to Lookout Management was thirty years ago or so during the Garage tour or twenty years ago or so when Lookout Mama and I went backstage together in Raleigh. "Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana," as Townes Van Zandt used to say but I think he was quoting Groucho.

Guess what I'm saying is they have more than they are sharing in the digital archives.

The current Rolling Stone online has links to it all here for the streaming show last night, the possible unreleased albums and the digital archives...

So you, John EH Connelly, would be happy if Neil sang "rocking in the free world" and shut up. (and used a digital sample piano) " I guess you know, "Mother earth" is a 27 year old song. Did you think he should have been shameful back then in 1990 as well?

I watched online from Japan. Neil was as wobbly (warbly) and clunky as ever, and all the better for it. Just like other FB and Twitter posters commented, my heart was thumping throughout the gig, but my eyes stung like hell when he played "There's a world" and "Don't be denied", which we so rarely get to hear live. But the highlights for me were "Stand Tall" and the exquisite encores.

Oh Neil, Omemee, Omymy! What a sweet show. Neil is quite the entertainer, and quite the host. Loved that line about forgettin' his belt and being worried about the butt-crack showing. Playin Theres a World on a 150+ year old piano was also great, and rooting for himself with every mistake. He's the only one I ever saw play 2 halls at once! That was a treat. Merry Christmas!

Totally agree - up close. Interesting his version of Old Man at 72 adds to the depth of the song. Not sure about some of the new stuff, but what a great show almost made me forget about The Visitor. Respect to Neil for still being out there and pulling out a show like this with humour & grace.

Confession: I missed the stream, due to not being in Canada and inactive Facebook account. So I hope to enjoy the film on video at some reasonably soon point in time. That’s to say, let’s hope it doesn’t go the way of the Trunk Show. Set list looks good, although I’m a bit disappointed not to see “A Dream that Can Last” after it was teased. Did I mention I’m exceptionally fond of SWA?

Also, @Mr. Rickman, I’ll take your remark on the Storytone songs as a small victory. Just a little vindication for having championed that album in response to its critics. I should add I don’t mind difference of opinion. But I did particularly feel some might be missing the trees for the wood with Storytone.

All the orchestral and big band dressing doesn’t define that record and, though I may be. in the minoeiry, I find the Tone currently gets more time with my ears than the Pill.
