BOOK: Young Neil: The Sugar Mountain Years by Sharry Wilson Due This Fall
by Sharry Wilson
A forthcoming book titled Young Neil: The Sugar Mountain Years by Sharry Wilson is due this Fall on October 14, 2014.
Young Neil: The Sugar Mountain Years is a detailed chronological narrative of the early life of iconic Canadian musician Neil Young. Exploring a time in this Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’s life that has yet to be documented with such depth of research, Young Neil is an exhaustive document of his “Sugar Mountain” years, from 1945 to 1966. From his birth in Toronto through his school years in Florida, Ontario, and Manitoba, the book examines the development of Young’s unique talent against a backdrop of shifting postwar values, a turbulent family history, and a musical revolution in the making. Includes many previously unseen photos, memorabilia, and set lists.
Sharry Wilson is a longtime Neil Young rustie fan and has been researching Neil's early years for several years now as chronicled in Broken Arrow Magazine: February 2010. It's been a fascinating journey for Sharry and we're looking forward to Young Neil's release and reviewing here on TW. And hopefully an interview with some behind the scenes look at the research and writing project.
Pre-order on Amazon.com. (Just a reminder, purchases thru Amazon help support Thrasher's Wheat. Thank you for supporting both fellow rusties & TW!)

All you critics sit alone your no better than me for what youv'e shown. No artist out there today is as productive or in the moment as neil is pono, book, playing live, albums and fighting for worthy causes. I for one am proud to support and continually enjoy what he has to offer in any form for time goes on and soon regretfully he won't be here for us.So please get off your high horse and feel free to stay out of a site that appreciates him were all tired of your ridiculous comments. Get a life my sad pathetic friend.I come down from the misty mountain.
