I'm going to buy this CD... but I have to admit I am wondering; why wasn't it downloadable content for those of us who bought the Archives Vol. 1 on Blu-Ray?
(And apologizes if this has already been asked.)
Agreed with Joe. The BluRay live element of NYA is a joke, I fell for Neil's personal letter and bought a BluRay just for this.
Oh well, I've ordered this, but really wish we were onto the 1973 or 1976 tour with this series by now.
The next archives will be released when Pono is ready. The delay is not with the content but with the delivery mechanism.
Archives Volume Two will come shipped with the device or be its first available download.
I agree that it's interesting that it's not being released on Blu-ray. That tells me that either NY is abandoning the BR format already in anticipation of PONO or that it will be a free downloadable for people that got the BR archives. I ordered it on vinyl but I'd settle for cassette or 8-track, it sounds so awesome. I love his 70's and 80's stuff and especially his 90's and early 2000's stuff but if he released an early folky live disc like this every year I'd buy them all. It sounds so great I'm already tingling just from the preview.
From the snippet at the end of the clip, it sounds like Neil plays Flying On The Ground Is Wrong on piano. Wow, looking forward to that!
John
Yes John, That sounds great!
Looking forward to have this one on my turntable.
Here's what they are talking about at UNCUT: "the piano versions of “Expecting To Fly”, “Flying On The Ground Is Wrong” and “Cinnamon Girl” have been initial standouts"
Looking forward to having 2 copies, buy one now and no doubt we'll have a free gratic copy in archives vol 2.5 as the previous box - sounds great though

Doubt you'll be seeing this in Vol. 2, that should start with 1973.
Well, since Neil is working on an album with early Crazy Horse outakes I would not be surprised to see Archives Vol. 1.5 before we get Archives Vol. 2 ...
Agreed. 2.5 should be available for free to those of us who bought the Archives. That's what was promised ("we'll be posting new material all the time through Blu Ray Live", or something to that effect). But promises are made to be broken...
Archives sounds like much of Neil's ideas got bored with it and dropped it - now where's that big Blue Ray box going to sit?
