The karma of blogging, as TW reader John K. comments.
Yesterday, we posted a rather curious album review titled Old Men, Take a Look at Your Work: Why Neil Young and Jerry Seinfeld Need to Stop Phoning It in or Retire Already which has generated a bit of controversy here and over on The Huffington Post.
All of which is quickly -- and justly -- overtaken by this Huffington Post article Riding the Dark Horse: What Neil Young Taught Me About Autism and Fear by Hannah Brown.
Brown blogs about how "Tell Me Why" from After the Gold Rush, helped her through a difficult period with her son's autism.
A must read for all of us... Riding the Dark Horse: What Neil Young Taught Me About Autism and Fear.

It's a wonder tall trees ain't a lay'n down, comes a time.
Watched a really good sci-fi on Hulu called The Earthling. Has a bit of that Donnie Darko/Peter Weir mysticism going on and most of the reviews are poor because people didn't get it. But I saw it anyway and was instantly smitten by the characters and story line. Think Neil Young's silver seed to a new home called Earth.
Those of us who have been following Neil around all these years do it because we love his choir boy voice and the music he continues to create. We find a connection. He makes it personal and uplifting. A personal prayer or meditation on life, love, and pursuit of being a better human being.
A movie or song can't be defined only by it's ability to reach across all humanity and into the margins. Sometimes we have to surrender a little bit of our own selfishness to make a connection.
Tell Me Why grabbed me the instant I heard the bass string run that kicks it off all those years ago. The years going by only serve to drive home what a great song it really is.
MNOTR - thanks for the thoughts. We'll have to check out The Earthling sometime.
Very enjoyable and moving piece of writing; thanks for highlighting. In a recent Comment, No One said something that really struck home: "Life is hard. Neil Young has made it better....". We all have ways of enjoying, enduring and enlightening our lives. Some of these are positive moves, some not so much. For me and so many others, Neil has been one of the brightest lights in some of the darkest times.
Many of us deal with a family member who has challenges. I'm pretty sure everyone at least knows someone experiencing this, either directly or as part of an extended family or group of friends. And whenever it starts to seem overwhelming and too much too handle, it's so helpful to have someone who can remind you "It's time to get behind the wheel". Thanks to Hannah Brown for sharing her tragedies and triumphs, and I hope the Dark Horse finds a pasture for comfort. Good luck to you and your son!
