Journey through the past...
Stunning!
Someone shoulda sent that to Neil for the Archives Vol. 1.
I'm sure he wasn't aware of this photo. And it seems to prove that he played there more than once in 1965 as he's wearing different clothes than the other picture that exists.
Syscrusher
Rock'n the sideburns - he looks just like his Old Man! And the handsome Ben Young, too!!!!
well Hello Mr Soul
wow...and a Gibson acoustic !
Actually it's a Guild. According to rusties decetives on FB, "This seems to be a Guild F-50. A top of of the line guitar those day. I wonder how Neil could have afforded this guitar. He had to sell his car and to work in a book store to pay back his father's loan. So I guess he had borrowed this Guild. Here's the model: http://westerlyguildguitars.com/guitars/f50r.htmlé
The pick guard, bridge, and saddle are Guild...
oops, my bad...shoulda enlarged the photo before making any guesses...
What a cutie!
Yay, great photo. Neil was such a handsome young man.
LOL asg, I had to take look closer when you said Gibson! Did Neil know any of the Hawks? They were just coming into popularity. Maybe he borrowed it from Rick Danko?
well, it's definitely not a Martin...and (I don't think) the Taylor had been "born" yet...it's like that Harvest-era photo of Neil playing a Strat; it's not...logical...
Asg, you didn't see the other photos on PurpleWord's blog - the headstock confirms it's a Guild f50... take a looky, bro.
Very cool! I dig Neil's white turtleneck. Very stylish! ;)
