CONTEST: Help Out NYAS and Win an Archives BluRay Box Set
Published by Neil Young Appreciation Society
Want to help out the Neil Young Appreciation Society? Want to win a Neil Young Archives Vol. 1 Bluray 10 disc box set?
OK, here's how and why...
As you may recall, last week we ran a special deal on NYA for Thrasher's Wheat readers via PopMarket.com!. And -- for you cynics out there -- we here at TW got absolutely nothin' from the deal and only did it to give our fellow Neil fans another chance at getting in on the NYA action.
Well, much to PopMarket.com!'s pleasant surprise, TW readers apparently went shoppin' in the free world. As a token of PopMarket's appreciation, they have bestowed TW a full Neil Young Archives Vol. 1 Bluray 10 disc box set, which lists for $349.99.
So now what are we going to do with another NYA boxset here at TW? Have his & hers/thrasher & thrashette editions of NYA? Build an addition to TW HQ?
After some discussion with our oh-so lovely and dear thrashette we decided that we would give back to the Neil community via NYAS and Broken Arrow Magazine.
In the last issue of Broken Arrow Magazine: May 2011, in the final article 'Last Dance', NYAS editor Scott Sandie and esteemed colleague (and pint consuming connoisseur) Guy Haslam issued a call for submissions to Broken Arrow from all Society membership.
So have a look at this article list below and use it as a prompt. Why not write that article that you’ve always thought about, either on one of these topics or anything else that you have in mind? Set yourself a target to write one, or at least have a go. At worst it won’t be published. At best you’ll see yourself in print in your own magazine. And earn a NYA boxset, to boot.
Drop editor Scott "Surfer Joe" Sandie an e-mail (surfer-joe@nyas.org.uk) to talk about it and make a proposal. They’re open to almost anything.
Act now. Seize the day. Your society needs you!

I LOVE this idea - thanks, Thrasher and Thrashette! One question, just for clarity's sake: do you have to be a member of NYAS to submit an article/participate in the contest?
A Treasure - Neil Young and the International Harvesters debute at #29 at Billboard 200
Possible article topics:
Neil Young – The Dogs (woof woof).
That's a nice one.
They must have given the last box set to you. I ordered it from PopMatters.com and now it's on backorder.
Why would thye put up a special like that and not even have it in stock?
Bummer. Oh well, I'll get it eventually.
Mine is back-ordered also...I am starting to think their 'special offer' is not so special....
easy now folks. we can't speak for PM, but it did seem that this sale was really successful.
Again, not that we would know, but its not like they will be back ordered for weeks while its re-pressed.
What a great idea, Thrasher and Thrashette. Thanks for your ongoing support of the NYAS. I hope this produces some much needed new material for future issues of "Broken Arrow." I've been a member since 1984 and I just renewed my membership. If you aren't already a member, I urge you to consider joining. There are a lot of cool and interesting articles (and photos) that you won't see anywhere else.
Thanks Sharry.
We're more than hppay to give back and share the Neil love.
Thanks for all you do to.
Can't wait to see the results of your Neil research!
I was told my order was shipped today. So, that was a VERY short backorder. Sorry to be grumpy about it. "Backorder" usually means 6 weeks or so in my mind. Anyway, nice they gave one to Thrasher's to give away as well.
Well, my order is confirmed shipped today so thank you thrasherswheat for the opportunity :-)
I received my Archives box, but I can't seem to find the download code. Where would this be in the box?
