Happy Independence Day to all TW readers, and to you too Thrasher! And thanks for all the hard work you put into this great site!
I find it hard to believe the Neil Young 2009 Tour is over with already! :-( It seems like just yesterday I was checking this site to see what he was playing in Australia.
It's been an incredible Neil year so far, and I'm sure it'll continue. Although he may be out of the spotlight for a while, Ol' Shakey's bound to be up to something exciting!
I just can't wait to find out what! I'm getting greedy I think!
Keep On Rockin' In The Free World! A week on from Hyde Park and I still am!
:-)

Happy Independence Day and belated Happy Canada Day to everyone on the far side of that big pond.
I raise a glass to your good health as I type!
Keep on rockin' !
Happy Independence Day to everyone in the USA and Happy Canada Day as well. Our Australia Day in on Jan 26th which we get a public holiday for. Its usually in the middle of summer, so we are either near water, in the water or in the local watering hole (the pub, tavern or club). We don't have turkey etc but let me tell you by the end of the day we all encouter quite a few turkeys around whom have become very intoxicated.
Our day celebrates the arrival of the 1st fleet into Sydney Cove, Sydney and the raising of the Union Jack Flag. Originally the day was referred to as First Landing Day or Foundation Day and it wasn't until 1935 that all states and territories of Australia recognised it as "Australia Day" and we didn't get a public holiday for this day until 1994.
Anyway its a very significant day as is Independence Day, Canada Day or any other special day for your country's moment in history and it's to be celebrated with pride, It's a part of what makes us either American, Australian or whatever and helps to showcase the uniqueness of people around the world. Hope you all enjoy your special day.
