I woke up this morning, with love in mind.
I was there, it was pretty awesome, so happy to finally hear Cortez, Hurricane, Rockin', and Cinnamon Girl in concert.
Sound coulda been better however, seemed to be better last year when I saw him in Cork.
Great gig tho'
Fantastic show !!
When Neil took the stage around 9:15 PM, the audience was hot because of the long pause between first part (don't like it at all) and the first notes of "Old Black"
In the beginning of Love And Only Love, Neil waves his hands to explain to the others to get soon at at another level of energy. I just love when he do that. It was obvious on the next song "Hey Hey.." This man has 64 and he fight with his guitar just like his life depend on it. I've seen him 9 times, this show was perfect to me from Neil, only the sound could be better.
Last year in Paris, or Colmar it was a better sound.
But this is a unique live experience, i was watching the faces of some peoples in the audience, they were in heaven !!
Just like me during "Cortez", i love so much this song and the version was so powefull than i found some tears in my eyes.
The accoustic songs were done perfectly like usual, i was pleased to hear songs like "Comes A Time" or "Going Back"
The audience made an incredible roar on the first notes of "Old Man" and it was just a perfect moment of love, music, energy until the very end of the show.
I was surprised by "Mansion On The Hill" never heard that tune live and i just have one word: WAOW !!!
Just like the only song from "Fork In The Road": Get Behind The Wheel, i found it very good on stage, i don't understand why people hates this album, but hey ! Neil doesn't care he's already working at something else !
And the last song was over the top; "Rockin' In The Free World" what a fantastic song ! Seeing Neil performed this song on stage is seeing Rock'n'Roll, I mean this is incrediblly powerfull and you jump on your feet and you shout whitout even noticed that you are doing these things !!!
This guy is a treasure and i know i'll go to see him next time he choose to come 500km around the place i live ( but please come in Nancy just one time, i 'll spend less money on the hotel, road gasoline ect..;-)
Cant wait for Sunday in Rotterdam. Have seen neil 5 times in past 2 years in Europe, UK and US. This will be my third Holland show.
Set list looks good. Would ,love Neil to bring back a 20 minute No Hidden Path or bring out Ordinary People.
That said, I'll settle for another Cortez, which I only saw in NYC.
Never seen Pocohontas so that may be a thrill. Every show is unique no matter how many times you've heard the songs live.
Regards
RSull
