Got Neil? Contact Thrasher's Wheat
So you've got Neil?
We always love to hear folks' Neil stories, reviews, links, photos, videos, etc.
Here's how to contact us here at Thrasher's Wheat.
But first, it's come to our attention that some folks who have written us never received our reply. It seems that some of our out going mail is ending up in folks junk mail or spam folders.
So if you've written to us and didn't get a reply within 48-72 hours, check your junk mail or spam folders.
Also, we return a lot of mail with requested info and never hear back as to whether useful. Or folks who say they'll share a story, link, photo, video or whatever and we never hear back from them. So please don't ask a bunch of questions promising us stuff that never comes through.
As an fyi, if you are trying to contact Neil Young, we are in no way, shape or form affiliated with Neil's organization. Try his record label, Warner Bros. + Reprise Records.
And if you would like us to answer a question, check the Neil Young FAQ. Or search Thrasher's Wheat (the search box is always in the right sidebar).
If you want to keep up with Neil, here's a few suggestions using Twitter, E-Mail, etc..
We like to hear suggestions too, so drop us an email: (REMOVE "X") thrasher@Xthrasherswheat.org (Sorry for hassle but we get too much spam.) If you do write us and don't hear back, check your spam folder first. If still no response, feel free to give us a gentle reminder.
If you have something to say, but don't want to send an email, use the Guestbook for Thrasher's Wheat.

Many thanks to Thrasher for helping me get this Olympic ceremony closing by Neil in perspective. It brought tears to my eyes to see this performance. Great song, sung sincerely by the artist, and offering a most heartfelt close to the event. That is trifecta greatness! Thank you Neil and thank you Thrasher for your role in bringing this event to those of us who missed the event in real time.

I also love Neil Young's music through the decades. I recreated (covered)his Cortez the Killer in my home recording studio (GibbyOMB one man band thing)from his days with Crazy Horse and think I came pretty close to paying tribute. See what you think http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JktacuJC8Os
I love Neil Young's music through the decades. He is so different. I recreated his classic Cortez the Killer in my home recording studio and think it's does a pretty good job of paying tribute to Neil Young from his Crazy Horse years. See what you think. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JktacuJC8Os
I saw csny in cleveland ohio 40 years ago, just after kent state. the stadium was jam packed and no music ever tied together the feelings like neil singing ohio. nothing in my life has ever came close to duplicating the feeling there and never will. i have seen this man play many times and love him like my brother. long may you run. j rose

After listening to the acoustic side of 4 way street and faced with a future of a changing way of life, I cannot help but think that Neil Young represents the peak of creativity and music skill that was a key part of life that is slowly fading into the past....

Why isn't the Trunk Show released on DVD/Blu-ray yet?
I was at the 2nd night of that show at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby, PA and would love to see this on film.
Anyone know what the hold up is? Is there a legal issue? A creative issue? Its been way overdue for release on DVD/blu-ray.
Love love track 6 on the cd disc 1 of the Bridge School set. Also, love the dvd disc 2 track 8. If you are hooked on these tracks well hey me too!!!
Just want to make sure you've heard the Nils Lofgren interview on World Cafe from January: http://m.npr.org/story/146002624?url=/2012/02/09/146002624/nils-lofgren-on-world-cafe He talks in detail about meeting and working with Neil.
According to the largest morning paper in Sweden, Dagens Nyheter, Neil and CH will come to Sweden next summer. The article (containing an interview with Neil on Waging Heavy Peace) ends with the words "Fans of Neil won't have to wait long to see him - he and CH will play in Sweden summer 2013".

Hi everyone, I recently got a copy of After the Gold Rush on Vinyl on Reprise Label # MSK 2283 I believe released in 1978 . I had been told the mixes on the songs were slightly different than on other earlier versions of the album. Does anyone have any info they may be able to share?
Neil will be playing four nights in New York soon. Any word on the set list?
Just announced: Neil Young and Crazy Horse will be playing at the Alsatian Wine Fair in Colmar, France on Friday 8th August. Tickets available tomorrow at 1000: http://www.foire-colmar.com/fr/vendredi-8-aout-2014
Could anyone help me get a nice MP3 of "Blowin' In The Wind" from the boxed set? I didn't know it existed and love the album, but don't necessarily want to drop a hundo for one song.

Hi folks
The format of the BBC quiz show 'Mastermind' is that four contestants have to answer two sets of questions each at speed.
With the first set of questions (the specialist subject)contestants must answer as many questions as possible within two minutes.
Contestants then have two and a half minutes on 'general knowledge'.
'Neil Young' was the specialist subject of David Kisilevsky, a retired advertising executive.
See how many questions Mr Kisilevsky got right below. The show was broadcast on January 30:

Thrasher,
Just woke up after a journey to see Lukas and POTR last night in Valley Center, CA.
The show was everything I imagined and more. Fantastic, great, inspirational, etc.etc.etc.
To all out there. Go see this show! Lukas blessed us with a nod to Neil by playing an acoustic "I Am A Child" and a blazing, "Cortez." Everything else blew our minds as well!
Thanks Lukas and POTR.

Hi there. I've been off Neil for a couple of years (absence makes the heart grow fonder) and have been trying to find a video on YouTube of him playing A Day in the Life with Peggy on I guess xylophone? Anyone have a link? Thanks on advance.
I wasn't sure where to post this since there are so many threads in Thrasher's Wheat. I want to plug my new book since I think it's relevant to the Neil Young community, so here it goes:
In the early 1970s, as I transitioned from being a kid to a teen, Neil Young entered my life. I was captivated by the melancholy of albums such as Time Fades Away, On The Beach, and Tonight's the Night. There was something about this guy, with his honest, heart-felt lyrics, and high pitched voice, that spoke to me, and I couldn't get enough of him.
A few years later, I started writing poetry and Neil was a major inspiration. His music and as well as that of others, such as The Who, Jethro Tull, Yes, and Rush, have helped me to see lyrics as the most important aspect of a song. They enabled me to see that music could not only speak to what is going on in the world, but also in our hearts.
Great rock'n'roll is poetry as far as I'm concerned, and someone like Neil Young is one of the greatest poets of all time. His lyrics are timeless, and songs he wrote in the late 60's and early 70's still find relevancy today. So as I prepare to release my book of poetry, In Letting Go, I have to thank Neil and many others for their inspiration, because without them, I'm not sure I would understand how poetry could express what's going on in my own head and heart.
