More On ‘Archives’ Delay
As we reported earlier, The Archives release has been delayed until 2008. According to Michael Goldberg's blog, Neil Young’s publicist says the delay is due to “new sonic upgrades to the DVD portion that needed to be finalized.”
The publicist also confirms that "Neil Young has been recording, but there are “no firm plans on any album yet.”
More Archives speculation.

I'm hoping for a new release. The Archives can wait another 10 years as long as Neil is cranking out new stuff.
Well... now it's been delayed even further this allows me to save up some more... I reckon it will be about $250 (or maybe even 250 euro; I'm Dutch you see). It's gonna be well worth it... the only thing I'm worried about is that he'll release the volumes to quickly after one another...
I might not be able to afford that, even tho I already have some money put aside. The thing is... I'm more interested in Vol.2, now THAT has compelling stuff! TFA, TTN, OTB, Zuma, Chrome Dreams, alternate comes a time, Human Highway, homegrown, RNS, Boarding house... lots happened from 73-82. Hell maybe we'll even see some original old ways... AND the Island in the sun sessions... I prefer that over Squires and BS anytime!I'm wondering tho... those performances at Fillmore East 1970 Young used in JTTP... will they be in it too? I'm guessing yes... the thing is; he prob won't include much of the CSN stuff, which is a bit of a pity, since SEEING 4 way street is better than HEARING it, eh?Ah well... my birthday is Januray 22nd 1985; I guess *I know what I'm gonna be asking...
GRRReat news! That he's working on new music is the best news I've heard out of the Neil camp in too long. Archives be damned. Bring on the lastest inspiration.
I totally agree with regards to the new stuff... Man, isn't it a good sign if Neil has to postpone/delay digging up his past to keep digging his future... that's the way he's always been, you know, and that's why he's still here... it's easy to get buried in the past... when you try to make a good thing last...

Ya know everybody (including my self) has been obsessing over Archives... When.. What... Why... How much... It has recently occuered to me that we are far too worreid. I mean come on Im sure he will get around to it eventually.
But can any of us complain if the delay means one more work of genuis we have not yet heard and one more chance to see him live... or two or three or ten. Ya never know what he has up his sleave. If Bobby D can do it (and he does do it nomatter how much some of you wish to deny it) than Neil can sure as hell do it to.
Which brings me to my next point if Neil can do it and Bob can do it why can't they do it together. There is absolutely nothing that would make me happier than to see Neil come out play a few songs then see Bob play a few and then see them do a few together. I think at that point I would be ready to die at the ripe age of 17 even if a havn't one sec. of Archives.
In Conclusion Archives would be good but new material and tours would be marvelous. And where has Neil ever lead us wrong people. I Trust Neil to do what is right for him and us. (Plus one point that every one seems to forget is that if Neil keeps kicking we may just find are selves with a five vol. set)
I allso hope for new music, that is very good but i'm allso interested in 'tha Archive series" but with all the delayes my guess is that the series will come out but after he dies.
So therefore i will wait another 25 years.
