From Harp Magazine news that Neil and Pegi Young were given honorary degrees at San Francisco State College on June 1. The couple were cited for their work at The Bridge School.
"Musician Young choked back tears as he spoke out against war in Iraq: "Every time you see something that reminds you of war and hurts you, that you're involved in it, that you're responsible for a country that's killing a lot of people, just try to remember peace."

Yes, a fantastic award well-deserved by them both.And a great quote from Neil about remembering the principle of peace in the midst of war and craziness. If we ever forget peace, then war will swallow us all.
So many times honorary degrees are not deserved. Photo ops and publicity stunts....It's nice to see these occasions when folks are given awards that are deserved.
And that photo of the three of them is amazing.

I am a liberal and I loved Bill Clinton. I will vote for Hillary in '08.
I hate anything that's not like me. I am scared of people I don't understand. I label all different people my enemies. I do not distinguish between terrorists and arab people or muslims. I have been hiding in my trailer since 9/11 watching Fox News and flying my flags (confederate and the winner) in support of my beloved President Bush. I have no mind of my own, I only know that anyone who is as unedjumicated as me and spells and says terrist, like me, can't be all bad. Since the fall of communism, a paranoid delusional like me has been waiting for the next threat to my way of life and I dare anybody to come down my muddy driveway, to my double-wide and try to take either of my flags.

its horrible to see pegi and neil honored in such a way. they dont desrve the dedication. and the picture with ben and his mom and dad what is that suposed to be inspirational come on with those fake smiles they are great actors
