Link of the Moment: Haahnster's Hallucinations
Some of the best Neil Young album review summaries since since Expecting To Fly's Album's In Order series over on haahnster's hallucinations - Thrasher's Wheat's Link of the Moment. From the review "Coming in Second on the "Creative Outbursts" List":
"So, there you have it, seven classic Neil albums (not including JOURNEY THROUGH THE PAST) plus multiple contributions to CSNY, as well as unreleased (or released later) songs galore, all in less than seven years. Now, it’s true that Hendrix fundamentally changed the way people approached playing the electric guitar.
His influence is ubiquitous, even to this day. However, the number of imitators spawned by Neil Young, particularly his music of this time period, is staggering. (And I didn’t even extend the time period through 1979 to pick up RUST NEVER SLEEPS, which might well be my favorite, and Neil’s most imitated, album of all.) There’s clearly a reason that Neil was named “Artist of the Decade” for the 1970s (Click here for a cool article recapping Neil's entire decade of the '70s). Thus, I say, from early 1969 through late 1975, Neil Young had the 2nd greatest “creative outburst” in rock music history!"
Check out haahnster's hallucinations album reviews. Especially the creative outbursts battle between Bob Dylan and Neil Young. It's a real trip.

An old man down the street had a dog that would always run out of his garage and meet me when I walked by. He said, "Oh, don't worry about her! She'll just lick you to death!" I said, "I wish my wife would!" He fell down laughing so hard, he passed out. What's this gotta do about anything? Not much. But it's a better story then most. By the way, the dog bit me when the old guy hit the ground...."dogs the lick! And dogs that bite!" Why do I keep f*#@in' up?" Oh, blog off will ya?
