Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere
Neil Young w/ Crazy Horse
On This Day, January 19, 1969, 57 years ago today, Neil Young wrote 3 major songs: "Cowgirl in the Sand", "Cinnamon Girl" and "Down by the River" for the album Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere with Crazy Horse.
Neil was suffering from the flu with a high fever in bed when the 3 song compositions came to him.
All of the songs for the album Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere were written and recorded during the period between January 17, 1969 and February 8, 1969. This amazingly prolific two year period captures Young at the height of his creative genius.

On this day in 1971, Neil Young recorded his legendary solo acoustic performance at Massey Hall, later released as 'Live at Massey Hall 1971'. A quiet night that became folk history.

Hi Everybody, I hope your day is going well. I just saw that Neil is going to be honored in a pre-grammy concert. It looks vert cool, an Americana sort of tribute.
Thanks Abner.
Wonder if that's the same event @Troubador we posted on TW SocMed feed?

I'll be outta town. Otherwise would def consider it. Recently saw Jesse Welles here and Margo Price is playing 3/12 at The Fonda, so I'm hoping to go to that. Rhiannon Giddens is also fucking amazing. Not real familiar with others on the bill.
"All of the songs for the album Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere were written and recorded during the period between January 17, 1969 and February 8, 1971." Not nitpicking for the sake of nitpicking, Thrasher, but "february 8th, 1971" surely must be a typo ? EKTIN was released in may 1969 .....
Thanks Philippe! Corrected. No worries.
