Not a concert report (sorry!), but this news item caught my attention nonetheless. Dancing across the water.

Such a great concert! The only criticism is the warm up band. They were terrible & people near us were yelling’ get off the stage’.
I imagine it’s not too easy being a warm-up act. I’m sure some are better than others. A lot are trying to get their start in the business. And people are bound to be a little impatient for the main act they came for. Fine line between promoting new talent and aggravating the audience.
Yes, the people near you WERE terrible.
Concert goers were rude to Bert Jansch both nights that he opened for Neil in Chicago in 2011 making it very difficult to enjoy his set. It was very disappointing. Being rude to the opener will not lead to Neil taking the stage any sooner. Looking forward to seeing him on the 27th (and maybe the 29th).
Yeah, Neil fans and the opening acts. I'll never get that reaction. Neil PICKED them! Give it a listen or talk amongst yourselves. Don't heckle.
There is some serious hype for the Cleveland show tonight. First time he's been in our area since 2012.
My first Neil show was Great Woods in 1989, it was pouring rain and the crowd had no patience for The Indigo Girls, which was too bad. And on the infamous Ragged Glory tour, many folks were scratching their heads about Sonic Youth.
It's never easy for an opening act.
The first anon comment was me, incidentally… didn’t realize that could happen by forgetting to log in. Booing Bert Jansch is mind-bending to me. I was sorry to miss most of John Renbourne’s opening set on that tour, (2011 solo electric)—got stuck in traffic, parking etc.
Reverend Billy & The Stop Shopping Choir. I love them. Total performance art, and stellar activists, for well over 20 years now. I am glad Neil found them. Their movie "What Would Jesus Buy?" in 2007 put them on the map. They are tireless warriors for stopping waste and overblown consumerism. They fight "corporate greed, materialism, and environmental destruction—all with humor, music, and theatrical flair." In your face? You bet. Smart and massively well informed. Too heavy for Neil fans? That's disappointing.

The Bert Jansch situation was more like fans having loud conversations while Bert was performing. It was wild how indifferent they were to a guy playing on stage. He was fantastic in spite of it all.
