Not that I knew, but the seasonal logic of outdoor concerts made me expect a second (Canadian) leg, which still might be beefed up with shows in Washington, Oregon and Northern California. So this summer it was either Canada or Europe, I assume, because after this tour the Horse and their guitar player will need some rest.
If anyone is looking for a face value lawn ticket to the Michigan show, please message me. I bought one, foolishly listening to Micah Nelson that there wouldn't be a Canadian tour, and now I am going to the western Canadian shows instead.
I hope Neil will drop down to play the Seattle area after the Vancouver show. He'll have to drive through here on the way home, so why not stop and say hello again?
We are waiting in great anticipation ... to see Neil Young , disembark from a polluting jet plane @ The Ottawa International Airport , wearing an Earth t-shirt.
If his eyes are open .. the ride from the airport to Bluesfest Stage is full of Canadian dairy , beef and poultry farms .
Who is he saving the Earth for ... his polluting jet set LA crowd or Canadian everyday people .
I think it only fair to question a lad that wears an Earth t-shirt ..... who has polluted more than those he preaches to .... Eh ?
In a classic BG line up it was Dr John, Joe Cocker , Stevie Ray Vaughan. Shoreline. Pre show drinks in the big tent behind the tent bar. I said who's this Dr John. This girl sitting at the nearest table gives me forceful lesson on his hits and Gris Gris The Night Tripper. Of course Last Waltz he's brilliant in. I forget what Cocker did I saw it tho. Stevie tore things up. I saw him 7x . Never more excited than you know a show that night. He was great everybody good wanted him.
Everybody wanted Dr John. Miss him .
@ wsanjose : I love Dr John, and his fellow New Orleans musicians like Professor Longhair. I caught SRV 3 x myself, and he was spectacular. I saw him last in 1990 at LA’s Pacific Ampitheater with Joe Cocker, John Lee Hooker & BB King. Between sets, SRV & Joe played Dylan’s “Watchin’ the River Flow” very well. At the end, all but JLH did a 10 minute “Every Day I Have The Blues.” Good times.
I am looking forward to San Diego, hoping also for a closer US show to meet up at. .
Been binging on the music of The Pogues lately. They are an Irish Pub Punk band from the early to mid 1980’s. You probably heard about the huge funeral procession for their singer poet Shane MacGowan late last year. He was a well loved artist in Ireland. He also drank as much as a human possibly could, pushing past the limits. He fused traditional Irish music with punk rock and invented a whole new thing. Check out The Pogues!

When the Dr started out in clubs as a young man. The violence, shooting, etc would start the owner said play louder, faster ! I know he was shot early on.

Looking forward to the Canadian shows! I also note the novel concept of providing each ticket purchaser (at least the NYA subscriber early birds? not sure) a physical copy of the upcoming album on CD. I don't think I've heard of that being done by anyone else before...
I just got great news. My Chase dispute with scalpers Tickets Center is decided in my favor. Ha ! Chalk one up for the little guy :). Also Ruben I bought my tickets via Ticketmaster and got the confirmation email of my forth coming CD.
I saw John Lee hooker at a Bridge Show. Alan. Does that make your head explode.
