Fooled me! Not really an 'unboxing' in the traditional sense. Suppose it's too early for that?
I am really disappointed in the lack of "outtakes", considering what's left in the vault for those sessions. I remember reading in the times-contrarian that his team discovered about 6 or so outtakes for this release. The only logical (or illogical) conclusion I can think of is that, according to Neil, an "outtake" is a "previously unreleased song," while alternate versions of existing or previously-heard songs are just that... he may not have wanted any repeat songs on this release, no matter how different the versions are. Maybe he is saving these "alternate versions" for a re-boot of archives vol. 1 (rumored) or a compilation of outtakes-only in the style of Decade (again, rumored). There was a version of See The Sky About to Rain that was recorded, as well as a "Nashville version" of Alabama... I wish we could hear those as well. Allegedly, the versions of Journey Through The Past & Dance Dance Dance are previously unreleased and NOT the same as what is currently streaming on his archives site.
