This is a very exciting feature and I’m delighted to see NYA become more interactive. There is a lot of knowledge in the fan community that is buried in mailing lists, blog comments, social media posts, etc. and having some way of putting these on an official, central service like NYA is a good thing (even if it’s limited to live performances). There’s a lot of small, contextual details or local anecdotes that can add some depth to the recordings - for example when Young played the 3Arena in Dublin with Promise of the Real in 2016, they played “Bad Fog of Loneliness”. It looks like one of those random set list selections on Sugar Mountain but actually, that day was an unusually foggy day in Dublin. Visibility was low and you could barely see the other side of the River Liffey (where the venue was). I look forward to digging through other people’s comments and observations as they come in.
Having been born in 1985, I only discovered Neil Young at the age of 18, so around 2003, in my first year of university. I only knew the song Hey Hey, My My through a cover by Oasis on their live Familiar to Millions album.
As I missed out on the Greendale solo European tour and Neil doesn't visit Europe very often, my first concert was Amsterdam, February 18, 2008. What a treat it was, we got Kansas in stead of Sad Movies, but more importantly, we got Stringman, the first time he played it in 15 years, which was a real privilege. And of course many other great songs like Ambulance Blues and Love/Art Blues.
The electric set was also a treat with Bad Fog, a tour first for Powderfinger and of course the epic 20-minute long No Hidden Path.
A perfect first Neil Young concert. Saw him again in 2009 (Ahoy) and twice more in 2016 and 2019 with POTR. 2016 was again a moment of privilege, with it being the longest ever concert with personal favorites like Don't be Denied, Razor Love and Words and epic versions of Change Your Mind, Love and Only Love and Love to Burn, along with rarities such as Like and Inca, Western Hero and Here We Are in the Years. So if I had to pick two concerts, it would be 2008-02-18 and 2016-07-09. Of course, I have audience recordings, but I'd love to get a high-res version, I'd even pay extra for that!
PS: I had to miss out on Crazy Horse in 2013, as my wife had just given birth a few days prior (as a matter of fact she was due on concert day). Can't have it all in life, can you?
This is very exciting news !!! It's almost a dream come true !!!
However, I wonder how they will handle it... Ok, for the comments but for the recordings ? There will be hundreds of requests !!!
I'm afraid that NY is still making an announcement that will be impossible to keep.
And I don't really understand anymore the interest of the bootlegs series, or are these concerts remastered on physical support ? But then, what's the difference with the NYAPS ?
Harm: I was also in Amsterdam in 2016 and this incredible concert is one of my priorities! I hope that NY will not only focus on the 70s...
I am 58 and have seen too many NY concerts to remember them all, lol.I really enjoyed the 2000 CSNY show at Kemper arena.Ny dominated the show and had everyone including his bandmates in awe when he played After The Gold Rush on the piano.Love me some NY!
Brilliant idea to involve the fans, and allow them to become an active participant within the actual archives. Let’s face it, we really are a pretty important part of the big picture here. Having the opportunity for us all to share our experiences of Neil in concert is really exciting. I’m looking forward to reading what others recall of their concert memories, and actually getting to hear the actual shows is a real bonus. This is such an inclusive idea. I’m convinced it will provide some important historical information vital to the whole of NYA. Thanks Neil.
Peace 🙏

With thanks to the wonderful www.superdeluxeedition.com for the heads-up.
All these ideas and plans for the future are wonderful, but I'm with Uncle Eddie. Get out the things we've been teased with already. (Hey, that almost rhymes.) All these new features to the site only gum up the pipeline for everything else that's been in the works since they were first mentioned.
The best concert that I have ever seen was Neil and the International Harvesters at the Minnesota State Fair 9-1-1985. Debut of Nothing is Perfect and an epic encore finish of Grey Riders. It still gives me chills 35 years later!
Razor love, what a track.
