Neil Young Endorses Bernie Sanders for President + Trashes Facebook, Again | NYA
In January 2020, Neil Young became a U.S. citizen.
Becoming a U.S. citizen would allow Neil to "vote my conscious on Donald J. Trump". Now, Neil Young has endorsed Bernie Sanders for President writing on Viewpoint | NYA that “In 2016, if Bernie had run instead of Hillary Clinton, I think we would not have the incompetent mess we have now.”

"I support Bernie because I listen to what he says. Every point he makes is what I believe in. Every one.”

Neil Young also took the opportunity to trash Facebook -- again, writing:
“Facebook is full of bots and trolls.More on CITIZEN NEIL: Neil Young Becomes A U.S. Citizen and After Facebook: Neil Young is "Days away from dropping social media platform" | NYA .
It’s not America. Forget social media. Ignore it and replace it with truth. I don’t believe the Facebook social media cesspool of lies, disinformation from other counties and misleading comments. I believe Bernie Sanders.
I think Bernie Sanders is the Real Deal.”

Bernie Sanders is indeed the real deal. The real communist authoritarian deal.
Praising Fidel Castro & the Soviet Union...a system where private property is confiscated & so-called 'fairness' comes from the barrel of a gun. No thanks.
Bernie Sanders is a dangerous piece of human debris - which is why the corrupt Democrats are in the process of taking him out....even they recognize what a threat he poses to freedom itself. No hyperbole there either.
Trump 2020 - 100%
No I'm not a Republican & Fakebook is a joke...Neil's correct about that.
I do not share Jonathan's vitriol against Bernie Sanders, but it is difficult to see him beating Donald Trump. His praise of Castro's literacy programs may be warranted, but it misses the big picture: tens of thousands of people who fled persecution by Castro have long memories. Sanders's nuanced praise will be lost on them, and the message they hear is "Sanders likes Castro," wrong as that may be.
Sanders's campaign wants to bring a "revolution" to the United States. The US, however, is not a revolutionary country. The 1960's anti-war, pro-civil rights radicals learned that 50 years ago. Anti-choice conservatives may learn that if the Supreme Court continues to chip away at women's right to health care.
Sander's adds a valuable voice to our political debate, but he cannot beat Trump because he alienates the suburban Republicans and independents necessary to beat him. Additionally, he may force recently elected moderate House Democrats to publicly distance themselves if he is the nominee. A Sanders nomination could hurt Democrats ability to retain the House and win the Senate, which can apply the brakes to Trump's worst ideas.
There is little evidence demonstrating Sanders's theory that he can win by activating millions of non-voters. That hasn't happened in the primaries. Additionally, studies show that non-voters preferences don't differ much from voters views.
Biden is an uninspiring choice, but he won't drag down the rest of the party with him. Elizabeth 'Warren would have made an excellent president, but she tried to be Sanders lite --pleasing no one.
My 2 cents.
PS Glad that Neil is a US citizen, and is exercising his right to share his political views, even if I don't share them.

It always is amazing and rewarding to observe American politics from the outside: "The US is not a revolutionary country" sounds rather funny, since the US just began with a revolution recently. (This from somebody who lives in a fairly young city in Europe, that was founded in AD 1218) What Europeans have long since admired is the American ability to re-invent oneself or to make change happen. I am afraid that your assessment regarding Bernie Sanders is substantial, but to me that also means that the US and Americans became old before their age. And it appears to be a paradox, that in order to return to the young and creative revolutionary spirit it has to be persons beyond their 70th birthday to remind their fellow countrymen and women of that spirit e.g. Bernie Sanders or Neil Young. To MAGA one needs friends, confidence and courage. The present White House imposter does not have any of that but the American people used to have all it took. Where did all that go?
I believe the problem begins with the fact that the government has become so corrupt and so powerful that they don’t seem to care that we can all see just how corrupt it has become. As much as I appreciate Bernie’s ideas and his good intentions, this corrupt government will never allow him the chance. Democrats and Republicans are mirrors of each other, and the only difference between the two is the color of their hats. There is no way either of these groups will let go of their comfortable lifestyle for the good of the country. They don’t concern themselves with honoring their responsibility to the general public, evident in the complete lack of achievement of any and all promises made during their respective elections.
Every four years we hear the same promises to fix the same issues, yet if they indeed achieved anything of substance, then wouldn’t we be addressing new issues? No; just hit repeat and start again. Same thing again and again. Social security, healthcare, human rights, environmental issues, education, unemployment. The list goes on forever and nothing ever changes. Am I the only one who has made this connection? These issues have been the same for as long as I have been alive, and I’m going on 63 years old.
I used to hold my government accountable, but those days are gone. We have given up all our civil rights and our government have set themselves up perfectly and have no intentions of letting that go. Absolute power has indeed become the status quo. SNAFU indeed.
I don’t have any answers on how to make things better but I sure can see how hopeless it looks. Something has to change, but I don’t know if this country is truly ready to do what it’s going to take to make it happen. We have become so polarized and are so fearful that most people are afraid to use their real names when they interact on this site. Fear has become the most powerful tool of the government. And it’s obviously working.
Peace
