It was a very good show. Emotional, because you have to realize that you just don't know how many more opportunities we will have to see him live. I got some great pics from 7th row. Based on the set-list only, I like that he's still mixing it up, but ideally I'd like at least a few more songs to be played. Personally, I'd be happy if "Powderfinger" was always played, and wouldn't mind if "F**' Up" was never played again.
Keep on rockin' Neil.

I'll admit that I actually prefer the shorter set-lists.
Neil's got a lot of great songs; but he doesn't have to play them all in one night. And historically, his very best tours have often tended to consist of relatively short setlists (1976, 1991, Europe 1989 etc).
I like the look of that setlist from Nasville a lot, and I'm glad to see that Love And Only Love has finally been dropped, if only for one night.
I can see F*!#in' Up or even Cortez The Killer working well in that slot, particularly if Lukas and Micah can resist mucking about with their nondescript "guitar hero" posturing and actually play the song.

Old rustie IndyDave posting--my first Neil show in 10 years (since he no longer seems to come to Indy--the show I saw 10 years ago was Chicago Theater) and a mere 33 years after my first Neil show--solo Trans. Excellent as always--in fact he seems to be getting better! The young band is great. I was on the lawn and have to say I was impressed that almost everyone--young people--stayed during the long DBTR, etc parts at the end. But I guess maybe Nashville fans are more appreciative of live music than other places. Great attention to the show as well--no annoying people having their own conversations, etc. All in all, an excellent venue and show--Neil never disappoints!
Walking in we talked to a local young woman who said it depends on who you ask and what show, but the sound on the lawn is better than up close at this venue. Of course, maybe that's what those of us on the lawn tell ourselves instead of ponying up the cash for closer views.
I come for electric Neil, and Words (also recall that from 2000 tour) and DBTR are so awesome. DBTR was around 22 minutes. A couple minutes from the end there seemed to be a little pause where Neil just decided to absolutely shred for a couple of more minutes. Simply beautiful. I love listening to Neil solo. For me it's the same as John Coltrane playing My Favorite Things. Neil is a jazzman.
