Just got back from Pine Knob. 12th time seeing Neil and he delivered as usual. When Neil took the stage the crowd went nuts. One of the best Neil crowds I've ever been a part of. Great song selection, Cowgirl was probably the highlight of the night. Don't Be Denied was a nice treat. Played about 10 minutes past the 11PM venue curfew which was great. The venue is amazing, I highly recommend checking it out. Hopefully he adds another leg to this tour. Definitely a show to see more than once. Roll another number for the road!
An absolute awe inspiring preformance by Neil Young and Promise of the Real! They have such a positive chemistry on stage and the audience fed off their energy in a way that brings forth a special unity among all the fans.Young playing with the Nelson brothers gives off a nostalgic atmosphere that harkons back to the days of Crazy Horse and truly does not disapoint. From new fans, to old rockers who refuse to burn out(or fade away), Young's pressense on stage becomes night to day. From somber acoustic classics to head banging jam sessions with Young's signature gutair solos, this set had something for everyone. "Don't Be Denied," a classic rarity, was a personal favorite and was an amazing song to open the encore. We missed a couple songs that were preformed at the Nebraska setlist but the whole experiece was an overall great preformance. This concert brought my family together to simply cherish great music preformed by great musicans.

Neil Young Stops Streaming His Music, Cites Sound Quality

(Bloomberg) -- Young calls streaming sound quality, “the worst quality in the history of broadcasting,” in a post on his Facebook page.
“When the quality is back, I’ll give it another look.”
I had a great time at the concert - loved the art & news community tents that greeted people entering the music venue. Thrilled to see The Beehive Collective's artwork throughout that area. I'm a local organizer for the March Against Monsanto in Detroit. I do a lot of reading/sharing a lot of content regarding GMOs and corporate controls. I was wondering what the audience would be like. I'll say I was impressed that most of those I spoke with were attuned to the socio-political messages in the music. There's a surface level of understanding, then there's a deeper level that people start looking at how / what they are consuming and make changes that matter. Nice to find music for living is around in this current sea of consumerism and falsehoods.

I saw Neil Young at Pine Knob Tuesday.
I can say this: It was a concert for the ages, just as his solo show last spring was. But in a totally different way. Totally different show. It built from solo acoustic, to folk rock, to a sort of grunge, garage, hard rock, crescendo -- with the special treat of "Don't be Denied," at the and. Astonishing commitment and passion on Neil's part -- esp to the new songs, "Mother Earth, and "Words." The singer has become the song at this point. He looked 20 years younger and was enlivened by this very, very fine young band. But they were also challenged to keep up with him. "Love and Only Love" was the best I ever heard it. Or probably ever will hear it. Visceral and raw. And joyful. This band is joyful. Great love on stage. And in the audience too, where there were maybe 1000 dilettantes and poseurs out of 15,000 fans. Great to see so many young folks, and so many of them into the new enviro songs. And Neil himself very focused and -- at the age of 69 -- just on fire. It was an absolute privilege to be there. See this show if you can. Long may he run.
