INTERVIEW: Neil Young on "Special Deluxe" Art - Juxtapoz Magazine
Sometimes “special” is the only word that will do, and in the case of Neil Young’s “Special Deluxe” by Penguin Books , let’s agree that it is, starting with the artist’s observation that “being obsessive is not such a bad thing for creativity.” The book is an enchanting portrayal of the roots of Young’s appreciation for the ability to travel country roads and landscapes of the imagination. The pastels of the dozens of cars he has owned are like a fantasy sketchbook woven with musings on rock’n’roll and the open road, with important paths to environmental awareness. Juxtapoz ambassadors Greg Escalante and Gregg Gibbs share some friendly conversation from their visit to the Robert Berman Gallery in Santa Monica where Mr. Young introduced Special Deluxe.More on Neil Young's 1st Art Exhibit: Special Deluxe.
