still the same setlist... does he not get bored?
Anonymous, are you going to every concert? I imagine that for the Finnish fans it's the only one concert.
So Tired.
No he does not.. :) According to yesterdays performance!
I wasn't there, but I'm just watching some of the show on youtube....seems like a good performance to me. Overall I think the performances were stronger last year (and in March) than they have been in Europe; I think that is mostly due to the monotony of the set list. I'm actually a fan of static set lists - but not for too long!
Having said that, the inclusion of Sedan Delivery and Surfer Joe in the main set (to replace Cinnamon Girl and F*!#in' Up) was a definite improvement in July.
I always thought that putting Walk Like A Giant in the first 4 songs is kind of like eating a main course before a starter!
Overall Ramada Inn has been the standout song, one of the best ever.
Looking forward to the UK shows!
I was in Bruxelles and Surfer Joe and Welfare Mothers(now replaced by Dedan Delivery)transformed an average show in an excellent one. I think that Surger Joe and Sedan Delivery are great addictions to the setlist. Personally I'm against changing too much the setlist. Not more than 3-4 songs for concert, for people seeing multiple shows.
Now I'm ready for the Oslo show.
So Tired.
Predicted setlist for the next show:
1. Hey Hey My My
2. Surfer Joe
3. Mansion On The Hill
4. Ramada Inn
5. Red Sun
6. Comes A Time
7. Blowin' In The Wind
8. Singer Without A Song
9. Dangerbird
10. Sedan Delivery
11. She's Always Dancing
12. Powderfinger
13. Walk Like A Giant
---
14. Hole In The Sky
15. Country Home
Still will never be as predictable as the "anonymous" posts.
At least the pee break songs are still in there with "Singer Without a Song" and "Hole in the Sky".
I predict I will need those pee breaks at the Harvest Picnic Festival later this month.
+1 on she's always dancing being added before the tour ends. the most underrated song on PP. Has that throw your hatred down grove and some pretty decent lead passages. None of them can probably remember how to play it :) since its been almost 18 months since they last played it.
She's Always Dancing is one of Neil's worst songs - it's uninspiring arrangement and weak lyrics...awful.
L.A Johnson - are you sure you are not mistaking it for Psychedelic Pill again?
As for She's Always Dancing, I think some of the lyrics are very weak, but the arrangment is great and I enjoy listening to it a lot. The chorus is good fun and the instrumental sections really take off.
I hope they will do it live, but I doubt they will; I don't think they will be able to do all the backing vocals live, which were presumably overdubbed on the album.
Well spotted I always get PP and SAD mixed up - that could be an age thing or an indicator that I'm not that keen on the record - thanks for heads up. Just listened to them again - ugh those lyrics...
I'd like them to play 'Horseback'...
Hi there!
jUST BACK FROM FINLAND,GREAT SHOW!
NOW I´M HEADING FOR GOTHEMBURG IN
SWEDEN.
THE ONLY SETBACK WAS THAT HE NEVER PLAYED A SHOWPLEASER LIKE
HURRICANE ON THE XTRA NUMBER.
ROGE THE SWEDE!
...Hurricane is always welcome! As are Cortez, Dangerbird..!
Yeah... they never seem to play " she's always dancing" one of the 3 best songs on the album (IMHO)... maybe they've been too lazy to rehearse it...LOL..
and for sure ,"danger bird" too is missing from these setlists!
But it's great to see him in good shape and so happy on the you tube videos from Helsinki...i don't know if he's been smoking again or if it's the (almost) eternal sunshine from the north...;-)
Country Home and Dangerbird are too good for this monotonous tour. Shes always Dancing and PP, Hole in the Sky and Singer without a Song, unlistenable dreck. Americana is 10X the record PP is. Sorry for such a negative post. Sometimes the truth hurts I know.
