For different reasons maybe, but that is what their stage looked like in October at the Austin City Limits Festival too. Even though it was right in the middle of the Alchemy dates.

Saw the Toronto show with all the Rust stage background. Once again, the whole concept is genius. What made it even better this time around was the stage lighting.
I think some venues cannot manage the space needed to hoist the amp cases into the air. Red Rocks in Colorado is one that comes to mind. Perhaps Austin is the same.
I was in Austin last October. Not only did it appear that, being a large outdoor music festival in a city park, that the mechanics and logistics of the stage set-up made all of the Rust relics pretty much impossible, but also that NY & CH were perhaps not in the mood to "show off" and make any of the other acts seem lame in comparison. I was disappointed, however that there were not at least the mad scientists and hard-hat roadies... And it sure seemed odd that they blayed under a giant BUD LITE banner ha ha !!!
Great show in Austin, altogether. One and only "Down By The River" of the tour was a real treat...

Check out this video of Sarah Lee and Johnny doing Huricane Window, playing in a culvert near their home in the Berkshires. Song and performance have a very nice Neil vibe going. And their dog wanders in and out of screen, which is pretty funny...hope that you enjoy!

And for those of you down South, Johnny will be playing with Chatham County Line during their annual Electric Holiday Tour, with shows in the Carolinas, Georgia and Alexandria, VA. He's a great guitarist, definitely has some Neil influences in a very good way. Should be some great shows!
Thrasher - could you please email me directly? I have a question to ask you that you probably can best help me. I cannot find any "contact" info on the site - thanks
the show I saw in August barely had a backdrop. no men in coats, no microphone, no big amps. but I didnt miss them.
