Great show Fuckin up was wild they went off somewhere unique here as they did with Hey Hey...
'Nearly Neil' show tonight at Rogers Arena was a huge disappointment!
Grew up a rabid Neil Young fan.....whole family went to show...been excited for months....only to have Neil 'poetically curse' at us.....what a let down!
Songs that were 20 minutes of distortion and feedback and unrecognizable versions of his new album....no memory lane or greatest hit tunes to give the crowd a bit of their monies worth...just a burn out that should fade away!

2nd comment, you are OBVIOUSLY not a rabid Neil fan. Were you really expecting to hear Heart of Gold when you bought tickets to a Neil Young and Crazy Horse show. Sorry you couldn't handle the Horse, bro.
Was at the show and it was tremendous. A few points:
1. There were no "20 minutes of distortion"
2. Not sure how the songs from the new album weren't "recognizable" when they were played pretty straight
3. It's not a "greatest hits" tour, but yet he still played a solid mix
4. My Gawd, there was a lot of pot!
He must have met by rabid fan I own Harvest cause there were a LOT of CLASSICS in that setlist. Happy Birthday Neil . From a fan of 45 years.

Really Anonymous at 3:52? Really? A Rabid Neil fan would have been following his career over the years and know that he is always moving forward, pushing the envelope...especially with the Horse. Maybe you should have listened to Psychedlic Pill and done some of your homework before going out for what you believed was a "Greatest Hits" concert. Posters like you annoy me so much because you really aren't a "rabid" fan...you are living in the past, and I'm pretty sure I'm just wasting my time talking to a troll.

just back from vancouver and my 38th neil show. objectively that may have been the best one i've seen, annoying crowd aside. seriously, i get there when the gates open, manage to snag a 3rd row spot, and i'm still surrounded by fucking jackasses? oh well. neil and the boys played strong. ramada inn might have been the highlight. that song just keeps evolving. fuckin' up was absolutely insane. the breakdown at the end was epic, neil kept repeating "i know it's wrong" and then poncho would say "but it feels so good". it got pretty perverse by the end. hey hey my my (or should i say my my hey hey) was equally epic and unique. neil kept repeating something at the end...can't remember exactly what he said but it was along the lines of "don't make it end". some poor unconscious dude got hauled out over the front rail during the footstep coda of "walk like a giant". it was fuckin' surreal. at the end poncho presented neil with a birthday gift, a scarf. he and billy put it around neil's neck (pretending to strangle him at first) and then poncho gave neil a GIANT bear hug. it was so sweet! you could just feel the love.
thanks neil. that was one for the ages. i hate to say it, but something tells me that might be the last time i ever see neil young and crazy horse. i hope it's not, but if so it was a fitting show to go out on.
I still can't stop thinking about last night's show in Vancouver! Ranks as probably on of my favorite concerts ever based on the overall vibe: the setlist was great (Walk Like a Giant is a HUGE track! And the acoustic version of Twisted Road takes it to a whole 'nother level!!!) lots of warmth and 'fun' amongst Neil and the Horse, and the jams were insane! The vintage stage setup was the icing on the cake! Loved the 'alchemists' and their antics down to such detail (the rainy storm ending of Walk Like a Giant: even though they were at the side of the stage they still put on rain slickers! So fun!).
I was really really really wishing that the encore would be Like A Hurricane (with the flying keyboards "waiting in the wing" up in the rafters) but alas it wasn't to be. Definitely not a downer though as the entire show was top notch!!! Got there around 6:30 to secure a close floor spot and was eventually surrounded by people (short moms with short daughters) who arrived much later but then complained that they couldn't see. Have never experienced so many concert virgins before... ah well. Welcome to rock n roll!
Last night's show in Vancouver was one of bizarre theatrics and moody but electrifying psychedelic jams. If you weren't on board for the journey then you probably had a bad trip.
I've seen Neil 4 times in total but this show topped it in terms of strangeness. The retrospective tone of "Psychedelic Pill" in its nostalgic sadness was very present in last night's show. Neil was more vulnerable than I have ever seen him. During "Ramada Inn", Neil made his guitar weep for past regrets and unfulfilled dreams - which left us all entranced.
Heading into "Fuckin' Up" the vibe quickly changed to rage. Turning on his sorrows, he took out his anger on his guitar, and indeed the audience (he started pointing at the audience, un-miced, screaming "You're a Fuck UP!").
The angst lasted for the rest of the show with aggressive renditions of "Mr. Soul" and "My My Hey Hey" which was exhilarating to watch.
Since it was his birthday, perhaps Neil was angry at his own mortality and was simply reacting to it. But in the end, with "Roll another number", he finally accepted his demons and did his best to let the good times roll.
I'm not sure why this show was as emotional as it was (or maybe it's just me), but it made for piercing examination of a man who behind all the thunder and distortion is a lonely soul.
Funny, he seemed happy as hell in Seattle.
"Alright no more sad songs" he said after one of the songs. Then I think it was after F-up he said, "I thought we weren't going to play any more sad songs". or something like that.
Best version of MMHH ever!!!!! He was just taunting the lyrics out.
What a concert. My 10th, and my favorite over greendale... I think. It was loud as heck. The boys were laughing up there most the time. Neil was on a mission. Tellin us we are all F-ups was priceless. His voice was great as well. Simply a strong, solid, methodical performance. WLAG is an incredible song.

Awesome show. I went with my dad and we were both in heaven. Neil Young and the Horse were amazing. We did notice a lot of walkouts. Guess some people couldn't handle it (not to mention the multiple people we saw pass out and get attended by paramedics). Some epic jam sessions. I've seen him before but love love loved this concert.
