Neil Young will be a guest on “The Late Show with David Letterman” on Thursday, September 27.

Also, there is now a Deluxe version of Waging Heavy Peace . David Briggs would be so appalled at the media onslaught that Neil has taken on recently. I realize Briggs only lived until he was 51 (I believe)but he was never happy with Neil when he went down a road that strayed from the source.
But with the sand running low in the hourglass of life, I guess Neil felt the time was right.
Also money running low in the bank no doubt...
@Anonymous - 9/25/2012 02:30:00 PM: That's not how we see it.
In the past, NY was reluctant to share the gift for a variety of whatever reasons. To protect the gift (his muse), himself, his family, his friends, whatever.
It clearly seems that at this point, there is no longer a reason to protect the gift (his muse). NY can now share it with all.
For many of us, that's a blessing. More Neil's a good thing.
Sharing is a gift. Pass it along.

Picked up the book but five hours ago , up here in Canada , hard to put it down .
A strange but amazing feeling , to finally read first person , what so many others have written and tried to capture .
This book is extremely well written.
Puts me in mind of a Scott Young piece of great writing .
Neil is doing it for the money? Really? I think Neil is firmly in the 1% crowd. Just finally sharing some of the secrets, or at least the reality he wants us to know. He's not so stupid as to reveal all of his life to us. It's all about the music anyway.............
anyone anything on the limited 1500 copies signed edition on amazon.ca Was it real or a red hering.
Waiting for my order to be filled
thx
In fairness, Neil's been fairly up-front about writing the book to make money to alleviate the need to tour. What's wrong with that anyway?
I'm shocked! Shocked, I tell you. Neil Young would like to make some money?!

Reading THE BOOK, I feel like I'm sitting down with Neil, and he's talking about stuff...just Neil and I.
It's a great feeling!
Needless to say, I LOVE Neil and I LOVE his book.
