"Get Back To The Country" Premiere on YouTube
Here's the video premiere of "Get Back To The Country" on YouTube from Neil Young's upcoming 'A Treasure'.
If the editing seems a little funky, here's why -- as explained by Neil himself.

God, I love Neil when his country and bluegrass hat is on. (Literally and figuratively.) Love it even more when it shares a beat with 'Sedan Delivery.'

Sadly the two first singles have me puzzled. I do like Old Ways but the 2 Treasure singles reminded me that the Old Ways/Harvester material might be the least interesting band Neil has been with (along with the Stills-Young band). I wish the Archives could have explored something else. I think I might buy the cd cause it stills sounds good but I dont think I'll fork out 50$ for the LP...

I think this is some of the greatest stuff from the eighties. This makes up for everything that was wrong with Old Ways. Have heard the album once now and it's awesome.

who's playing the mandolin? Is Nils Lofgren?
I've got to disagree with Alex. I actually think the Harvesters are one of the best (if not the best) band Neil ever played with.
I think the mandolin is Anthony Crawford.
---who's playing the mandolin?
Well that's a very complicated question to answer.
Is there really a mandolin or is it a banjo?
The guy you see in the video you can hear in the audio too. But actually he is playing banjo in the audio part of this video. In the very beginning of the video you can see Larry Cragg with a banjo on the right side. But you don't hear him play the banjo. In fact that is Anthony Crawford, but it looks like he is playing the mandolin in this video.

Rolling Stone Magazine posted the NY top ten after their poll from .ast weekend:

Before you go there please guess which one is on number one....
Wrong.
Old Ways is quite a weird album in the way that its one of Neil's only album with so many session players. The sound of the record is also atrocious. I'll take Life, Landing on Water or Trans anytime of it.
Thrasher:
On Tuesday, I received my copy of "A Treasure."
I think it was worth it to pay the extra $ for RUSH service to get it a week in advance!
Upon completion of the first hearing, I exclaimed to the Universe, "Man, that's HARD CORE COUNTRY!!!"
I absolutely, postively LOVE this album. All that fiddlin' and beautiful steel!!!! Everyone put their hearts into it, and it shows. No wonder it's called "A Treasure"!!!!
This album is so PERSONAL. That's the only way I can describe it. I feel that it's my inheritance from Ben. I sure miss him!!!
I could spend hours gushing over the excellency...but I won't.
I will say that this version of "Flying on the Ground" is absolutely precious.
And "Grey Riders," well, it was worth the wait!!!!!
As always, all my love and thanks to Neil and all the guys that had a hand in this!!!!!
Happy Listening,
Marian M.
PS. The T-shirt is great too! Great quality and very soft!
Thanks Marian.
Very cool report. The Treasure is a Treasure, for sure. :)
