Happy Holidays and Christmas in June
The Lone Red Rider Opens the Neil Young Archives
For so many Neil Young fans, Christmas (or insert preferred holiday) arrived earlier this year in June.
In certainly the most amazing musical adventure of all time, the incredible adrenaline rush of simply holding the box itself was comparable to opening up presents on Christmas morning as a child.
During this season, we're hearing that many more Neil fans will be finding a big box under the tree. So if you do find a little box at the top of the stairs, have your loved one nearby with a camera -- like LRR above -- to capture all of the smiles of joy and eager anticipation.
Lone Red Rider's video is a wonderful reminder of June 1 here at Thrasher's Wheat. And we must say that Ms. LRR does an outstanding job here with all of her camera work and curiosity.
2009. What a great year to be a Neil fan. Thanks Lone Red Rider and all of the tremendous work on the ever indispensable A Guide To The Neil Young Archives -- another true fan resource.

Thanks Thrasher. It's been great to have been a part of this community this past year. From constructing a speculative track listing to locating hidden tracks, the obsession played out to it's fullest extent. And yes...I am thankful that Ride-ette doesn't give me too much of a hard time about it (until I zone out on baby duties). Peace and best wishes for a great 2010 to all.

Ya know, I'm thinking about importance of moments in Neil's career that really carry the moment for me. Archives?? naahhhh. No way. I'm thinking about the first time I played After The Goldrush on an old creaky stereo that belonged to my parents. Oh man, what a moment. American Stars N Bars on the first record player I could find. Ding...good one! I love listening what he's into on any given tour up to including his latest. Great stuff. Archives? Yeah, I love the look at and listen to tracks I haven't yet heard. But please don't ask me to buy yet again the tracks I already have purchased. Thanks.

It definitely was Christmas in June and has continued every day since.
I'm always listening or watching one of the disks. I have a special fondness for the first one.
I so love "my little box at the top of the stairs."
Dreamin' Man is another awesome Christmas present. I love listening to this late at night. The sound is so pure.

Lets put all our bitching behind us and remember we are the lucky ones.Some people have nothing, Some very young people are fighting in two wars on Christmas!
Lets remember them, appreciate that a lot of us were able to spend $200.- $300. + to buy the Archives, blu ray players, stereos and hi-def TVS, etc, plus dreaming Man and remastered albums. I'm pretty sure I'm getting some re-mastered vinyl tomorrow! Cant wait! I know I'm lucky this holiday season and I wish you all the same or continued good fortune during these tough times. Lets hope 2010 is even better!

Just finished watching Heart of Gold DVD with the family & inlaws.
Surprisingly, it was the only time this holiday that everybody sat still in the same room for so long.
