Band Of Horses are superb. Great Line up.
Cat Power is superb too, and I love her.
never heard of them.
Both of them are great, but Chan Marshall is such a beauty. And she sings just like an angel. I remember her singing Mr Soul in a raw version, really close to the early song of B.S. As Bob Dylan said, she's a "scorpio sphinx in a calico dress".
Does anyone know what time Neil would come on stage on Sunday & how long he might play based on prvious years?
neil usually opens at 2pm with 2 or 3 acostic numbers and then closes with a couple of songs with all the performers at the end. The concert isn't about Neil, he just puts it togehter to benefit the Brudge, so if you are going to see him, you might be disappointed.
Day one:
(1) I Am A Child
(2) Sugar Mountain
............................................................
(A) Fortunate Son (with Cat Power on guitar and background vocals)
............................................................
(3) Just Singing A Song
(4) Oh, Lonesome Me
(5) Mother Earth
(6) The Needle And The Damage Done
(7) Unknown Legend
(8) Heart Of Gold
(9) Old Man
(10) Get Back To The Country
(11) A Day In The Life
............................................................
(B) Comes A Time (with everyone---)
............................................................
You and I we were captured
We took our souls
and we flew away
We were right
we were giving
That's how we kept
what we gave away.

A Day in the Life - what an awesome rendition. Neil and the band were cooking.
can anyone describe how Neil worked out A Day In The Life accoustic?
What time did the concert go till?
Concert went till about ten minutes to midnight.
A Day in the Life was fantastic. I didn't know if he was going to pull that one out since usually it requires so much wailing on the electric guitar, but it sounded absolutely great.
Does anyone know the order of appearance for saturdays show?
Neil (2 songs)
Band of Horses
Cat Power
Death Cab
Wilco
Sarah McLachlan
Norah Jones
Jack Johnson
Neil (with ensemble for the final song)
Hippies for Obama. Hippie Dream. Endorsing Reagan? Vote for Obama at the worlds peril. Hippies for Obama, a great button, do you know what that means? Capsized in expectations, in a Hippie Dream.
The world is already in peril, nitwit.. that's precisely why we need Obama, not more of the same that has brought us to this sorry state. God bless him and Neil Young.
Tom
We do not even known what peril is.

The Bridge School Concert on Sunday was great! We were treated to Neil sitting in with Cat Power, Wilco, Josh Groban, Norah Jones, and Jack Johnson as well as perform his own set. Who else can make these musical connections with diverse acts year after year? What a unique show. This is why I like the Bridge concerts so much and am willing to drive three hours to get there.

This time it's for real!
I was wonderin'----would any of you know--can you play a blu Ray disc on a regular DVD until one gets a Blu-Ray machine?(i assume it wouldn't preform as interactively) and will the DVD version of the archives be interactive at all?--thanks
Blu-Ray disc won't play on a DVD player but DVD will play on most Blu-Ray players.
The last question is a good one. I don't know for sure.
I can imagine the Blu-Ray version has much more to it's content, it's more interactive and you get frequent updates from Neil and his friends. He mentioned this at the Java conference. Blu-Ray is better quality = better sound.
Hippies for Blu-Ray.
January 27th will be the day.

All Blu-ray players are backward compatible to play DVDs. The Sony PS3 is considered to be the best BD player and it also has an ethernet port for Internet connection. In addition, the Sony PS3 is continually having updates, which are downloadable from the Internet for free. Many other players don't have this ability and are stuck with whatever firmware ships with the player.
Connecting to the Internet with the Archives Blu-ray set enables the owner to download (for free) new content whenever Neil makes it available. This could be music and video downloads, more archival materials, tour info and special offers.
The regular DVD edition is interactive as much as the Fillmore or Massey Hall DVDS were.
The major differences between the BD and DVD archive editions are that the BD version has 24/192 audio, a HD picture (which means EVERYTHING looks better), the ability to navigate thru the archives while the music plays, Blu-ray style pop up menus and advanced navigation.
Having tested both the DVDs and Blu-ray discs from this set, I can tell you that without a doubt the BD version blows away the DVD in every respect.
Hope this answers you questions.
Thanks for the great explanation!
I really hope Thrasher will copy the text and paste it into a new page!
Only one thing: "Having tested both the DVDs and Blu-ray discs from this set..." What does that mean? You've seen and heard the Archives? I am jealous.
Hey--thanks a lot friends---sounds like I gotta figure out a way to get some sort of blue ray player under the Christams tree this year! Heading out from this ole desert town to see Neil in San Diego tomorrow----
