Archives Vol 1.0 - "Needle And The Damage Done" Rehearsal
UPDATE 9/17: It has been confirmed that this video is totally bogus and completely unofficial. Sorry.
UPDATE 9/16: When this video was posted, it was assumed that it had been uploaded by the official YouTube Neil Young Channel. Commenters have since pointed out this is not from the official channel but a similarly named channel. Thus, we can't really vouch for it's authenticity.
Here's a brief clip from The Archives Vol 1.0 of "Needle And The Damage Done". This is labeled as a rehearsal with no other information. Uploaded by NeilYoungChannel's Channel
Thanks MarkC!

Well, this one isn't exactly mind blowing like some of Dylan's early demos. Why not unveil one of those hidden gems that were mentioned in Shakey if it wasn't just hype.
why don't we NOT complain about leaks from the Archives and be a bit more appreciative that they seem to actually exist and are slowly but surely making their way to the public?
tours, politics, ticket prices, leaked Archives material...what else are you guys going to complain about?
his wardrobe?
let's be thankful he's still around and leaving bits and pieces of his traces.

I really liked live at the Fillmore East and live at Massey Hall, which I consider essential - but I don't really like this track. It is a bit of a throwaway, isn't it?
Jesus, really? Why wouldn't anyone want to hear this? Is it revolutionary in the way we think about Neil as an artist in 1971? No.
Will it be the most interesting thing about Archives Vol. 1? If the video preview from last year, Fillmore, Massey, and the Riverboat bonus tracks are any indication, not even close.
But why the need to complain about hearing a previously unheard early version of one of Neil's most classic songs?
This is a clear sign that Archives Vol. 1 indeed holds many surprises that fans have not yet speculated about and we're just beginning the journey into this piece of musical history.

Spin the Black Circle
if this is the quality, he can keep his archives in the vaults forever and ever
Ha! You need to hear it in 129292khz hi def. blu-ray HD sound to appreciate it
Didn't Neil say the archives was going to have everything in it the good with the bad -- 'ie' it would be realistic not perfectly airbrushed ? It seems like classic Neil to throw in an off take when some fans would expect a 'leak' to be one of his best clips to promote the archives ... keeps everyone off balance which is probably the way he likes it ... part of the appeal ultimatley is the element of surprise ... hopefully it will remind the naysayers that this for Neil is a labor of love not a capatalistic pursuit, although I'm sure he's mint a fortune on it...
Well, this sounds like a home recording or something to me. Musically not the most interesting, but pretty cool when you..uh..like Neil.
i just noticed that NeilYoungChannel is not the same as neilyoungchannel, which is Neil Young's youtube channel. I don't know who uploaded this, but i don't think it's "official".
either way, sounds good, and I can't wait for those archives.
Yes Cosplusin I subscribe to NeilYoungchannel and did not recieve this ..it came from elsewhere
It's a bit blurry but I'm pretty sure it says "COMING IN 2007" up in the corner.
