Al Gore's iTunes Playlist Includes Neil
From Gristmill:
Track Four: After the Garden, by Neil Young
Al Gore: I love Neil Young's passion and his courage in reawakening the music of protest in America. The Bible says: 'A little child shall lead them,' but sometimes it's an old master like Neil Young who provides leadership. In this song, his metaphor is unmistakable and powerful the very first time you hear it."

Are you talking about Al "My 20 room, 8 bathroom mansion uses more energy in a single month than most people use in an entire year and I have two other houses besides" Gore?
That hypocrite?
Word on the street is that he really prefers Roll Another Number but couldn't say it for PC reasons. Gore is the only hope of preventing: (1) the GOPs from keeping the WH and (2) the Iraq war machine raging.
Just what we need- a guy who qualifies to be a leader because he can play a guitar.
Come to think of it, we don't need a cigar store indian as a leader either Al. Grow a personality and come back.
Uh oh. Looks like the right wing Drudge Report readers have taken over the comment section of Thasher's Wheat. Where are my fellow rusties?
As we say where I like hanging out, "don't feed the trolls."
Nice to know Al Gore's a Rustie. Of course, if he had "War Song" on the playlist then I'd be really impressed!
Liberalism is truly a mental disorder. Why is it so hard for you folks to deal with the truth?
Is it because your high priest of your new religion, "Global Warming" has been exposed as the phony that he is? He should have used the same excuse that the war hero, John Kerry used when asked about his SUVs. Kerry stated that they weren't his, they were his family's.
If you ever glanced at The Drudge Report, or had a bit more intelligence than Algore, you'd know that it's not a right wing site by any means. Drudge simply posts links for various headlines. His links to columnists go across the political spectrum.
Feel better and uh, keep on following the guy who plays the guitar. Some leader!!!
I think the Drudgehead was looking for the Lee Greenwood website. Says Neil:
Be the ocean when it meets the sky
"greek freighters are dumping crap somewhere right now"
Be the magic in the northern lights
"the ice is melting!"
Be the river as it rolls along
"toxic waste dumpin' from corporate farms"
Be the rain you remember fallin'
"be the rain, be the rain"
Hey, when's Neil going to sing about corporate record labels?
Oh yeah, they're the ones who pay him all those millions and have helped to provide him with a lifestyle far above what a bozo who sings and plays the guitar should have.
I love Neil but I detest phonies like Al Gore kissing up to him. Al does not have a sincere bone in his body. This is like some empty suit record executive sliding up next to him (Neil) and telling him how much he loves his music. It makes me want to shower and remove the sleaze.
Agreed, remember this is the same Al Gore who chaired commitee meetings in the senate in order to investigate the "corruption" of the youth by evil musicians when his wife, Tipper, bought his daughter the soundtrack album from an R rated film, (Purple Rain) and then was surprised and horrified that it contained content she deemed "innapropriate" for her ten year-old daughter........
remember?
Do you people have any appreciation how critical environmental issues and global warming are to Neil and his music? Al Gore is about to win the freaking Noble peace prize for An Inconvenient Truth and being the leading policymaker in the world taking this issue seriously. You can't separate Neil's music from its message--then he becomes just another two-bit singer songwriter.
I'm reading this from across the ocean. Must admit that I'm stunned sometimes.
And mother earth is still wheeping. And the war drags on...
Uhhhh, Neil is just a two-bit singer-song writer and you're just a two bit sycophant who thinks that because he's written some songs that you like that he has some special knowledge about the environment or about anything else of importance in the world.
As far as your other hero, Algore, most climatologists think of him as a fool and as his inconvenient lie as a great science fiction film.
I can't wait for 10 or 15 years down the road when the whole world will be laughing at this bozo the even bigger dopes who follow him.
Oh, by the way, how did you get to work today? (If you have a job that is.) And how did you cook your food? Heat your home?
"I can't wait for 10 or 15 years down the road when the whole world will be laughing at this bozo the even bigger dopes who follow him."
I can't wait for 10 or 15 years down the road when the whole world will be laughing at global warming deniers like you. Actually, we won't be laughing. More like crying probably.
I'm sensing that there are too many phonies on this site. If you don't believe in global warming, then I doubt you're a rustie. And for saying Neil should not have the money he does???Neil donates a crapload of money to places that are soooo important and yet so underlooked. And its not like Neil is some junkie who just picked up the guitar and everyone loved him. He sacrficed all of his life to get where he is. And it was a rocky road with a heck of a load. Give the man some respect!
By "rustie", I'm assuming that you're referring to people who enjoy Neil's music. Well junior, I've probably been listening to Neil for a lot longer than you have.
As far as Neil's sacrifices, tell us, who HASN'T sacrificed in order to be a success. Maybe you've never sacrificed anything because you've acheieved nothing in life. Boy, you sure sound stupid.
You also imply that someone who listens to Neil's music has to agree with everything that the man says and does. Sorry, I can think for myself, something that you've apparently never learned to do. And to imply that someone can't have a point of view that's different from your leader, the guy who reached that exalted status because he plays a guitar sounds rather faciast to me.
I'm sure that you're a big proponet of freedom of speech and all that. You probably preach it to your sick liberal friend, but of course in your case, freedom of speech applies only when one agrees with you.
Try thinking for yourself once in a while and get out of the line of sheeple. You can enjoy Neil's music without worshiping him and you can even disagree with him.
I doubt that you have the balls, the mind, intelligence or imagination to do so though.
Keep drinking the kool aid.
Neils songs are his own creations and ideas. You decide what it means to you. In America you have that choice. DAn
I biked to work, cooked my meal on a wood burning stove and heat my home with energy solely derived from solar and wind-powered sources. So kiss my ass you Bush-loving, hate-spewing neofacist. You don't even know what a Rustie is so take your venom elsewhere. Here, people do believe that Neil does in fact have special knowledge about global warming and other critical issues of the day. At the very least, he has the ability to convey those messages to a broader audience than any politician ever could.
Mikey, you sound like a liar, a moron or both. You sound like a hysterical lunatic. What happened- forgot to take your meds today?
The only thing that's rustie about you is your thought process.
Global warming a critical issue of the day? HAAAAA Keep subscribing to the junk science that the guitar player Neil and the cigar store Indian Algore do. You're right in line with both of them.
By the way Mikey, what is it that powers the computer you use to type into this and other web sites? Please, don't tell me that you're the old hamsters-in-the-wheel power.
Don't feed the trolls.
If you rightwingers hate Neil and his true statements made about Gerorge Bush and your party, then don't log on to trashers wheat!
Thank you and "Keep on Rockin in the FREE World"!
Peace out,
FREAK :)
You need to take a reading comprehension course sonny. No one ever said that they hate Neil Young. He's just a political and social issues moron.
He should stick to singing songs and playing with his toy trains and not making social political commentary. He sounds more and more stupid with every utterance.
Come to think of it, you do too!
Freak: You went and fed the troll! Coincidentally, I did an IP search and the anon GOP postings are coming from an address registered to the John Birch Society in Appleton Wisconsin, a right-wing hate group. So take it all with a grain of salt--he's "too far gone".
Au contraire; nourrir les trolls. (Eventually they'll explode from their own flatulance.) La langue est un virus. La musique est la langue universelle. Rock on, Al! Rock on. Paix.
Dee
ATTENTION!! ATTENTION!! EVERYONE NEEDS TO GET THE SAND OUT OF THEIR VAGINAS AND LISTEN TO THE MUSIC!!
le trou de bout, aussi?
all I know is that, "it's a cold bowl of chili when love gets you down but its the neighbor's wife I'm after"
"Yeah! Lourd et une bouteille de pain."
Okay ... not Bob Dylan.
"La selle en haut le cheval palomino, le soleil descend?"
Do I win anything? An IPod, Al Gore, Trolles?
