Someone forgot to turn on the Face Value Ticket Exchange, Willie! A pair of Front Rows for tonigh llisted for almost $3000 each on re-sale. But there is a single front row for $345 right now, which might be close to face value? Getty-up!
Wonder if anything from the new album shows up? It's a strong collection, so I'm saying yes.
Who's gonna complain about a, oh I don't know, 20 minute Second Song? I know I wouldn't.
Anyone who is going, be forewarned. Bridgeport is NOT a nice part of Connecticut. Don't want to get lost driving around there.....

Richie ain’t wrong about Bridgeport. Murders 5, 6 & 7 of the summer/yr (last was Aug 30).
I am 15 miles away via a ferry ride across Long Island Sound.
Problem is Ferry schedule doesn’t align with encore, especially on a weeknight. A 59 minute show ended after Last boat left.
Maybe opened w/duet Willie - Any Real Cowboys. Looks like 2 second songs made the cut.

Neil and the band were in good form after a long break from being on the road. Set list was unexpected but very relevant to the new album and where we (and Neil) are at in our respective lives. There is an online version of the whole show for those anxious ti hear Neil live once again. Long may he run
What an interesting night.
Neil and the band sounded fantastic. The two new songs, although they might have been the last two I would have picked from the Album, were the highlight of the night for me and Neil seemed beyond-happy at delivering them. In general they seemed really happy throughout the evening and even the most familiar songs were absolutely delivered with feeling and energy that felt new.
The energy in the place felt pretty weird. Certainly those who always seems bitterly disappointed not to hear Heart of Gold, Old Man, Harvest Moon etc should have been ecstatic as the band sounded so good and delivered beautiful versions of a lot of familiar material.
My immediate neighbors (in the 2nd row where I poached seats unsold for thousands on ticketmaster) didn't seem all that happy with Neil's set though. Unless filming with your cell phone is an expression of joy, most either appeared to be either non-plussed or actively complaining about the lack of electric guitar from Neil.
What sounded like angry shouting to "plug it in, motherfucker" was interesting to hear down in the doctor-lawyer priced seats. Not the first time I've seen people yelling at NY wanting something different than what he was delivering I suppose...
The folks around me were having loud conversations during most songs so I do have to admit that at times I also would have been pretty happy to hear ear splitting solos to drown those people out but at NY shows as in life I'm pretty intent on enjoying whatever we get as much as I can.
By the time old black showed up at the end for some full-on scorched-earth pyrotechnics, the nearby die-hards may or may not have enjoyed it even more after the tension build, but it was pretty hard to tell the anger from the enjoyment. And Rockin in the Free World was instantly followed by bitching about how the show couldn't possibly be ending so early, so there was that.
Just a weird night, I wouldn't have placed a bet on Willie's set list feeling a lot more adventurous than Neil's but it did to me. Besides the two new songs there weren't noticeable musical risks being taken unless they went over my head.
A fun time and one of life great's pleasures to see these guys. Possibly my least favorite NY show I've seen over the decades but that's only because of an impossibly high bar... and maybe just a typical wish for MORE.
Living with war sucks Neil- hit the road and let freedom ring!
PS- Everything is Bullshit was pure gold.
