Farm Aid 2026 will be today, Saturday, September 26 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Board members Willie Nelson, Neil Young (& the Chrome Hearts band), John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews (with Tim Reynolds), Margo Price and Nathaniel Rateliff.
Joining them this year will be Turnpike Troubadours, Lukas Nelson, Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs, Jesse Welles, Sierra Ferrell, Mon Rovîa, I’m With Her, Amythyst Kiah, Lily Meola and Chris Pierce.

Chris Pierce goes on 12:30 PM Eastern. He was a great opener for Neil in 2023.
Oh, bummer I missed him. But got to see him a few weeks ago when he did an album release show in his hometown of Pasadena. Such a genuinely great guy.
Unfortunately, he only got 15 minutes.. You can back-up on the Youtube stream & watch it, but it was only two songs. He was good, deserved more time.
Lot of good sets and acts I want to follow up: Mon Rovia, Ty Myers. Jesse Welles kicked ass as usual (seeing him the week after next. Love the new song Nerd Reich). Lukas doing a beautiful set so far. I liked Sierra Ferrell, though the religious commentary ain't my thing. Mike Campbell was disappointing, imho. Probably have to watch the replay of Neil and Willie since I'll be out by then.
Turnpike troubadours listen to A LOT of Jason Isbell I guess…

All in all lots of talent, especially from “new to me” acts.
Mike Campbell was ok. Just.
He REALLY made a point about NOT living in the past w/ a dramatic pause.

Neil steals the show once again.
First few songs felt a bit shaky, but Old Man started the tide turning. Daddy Went Walkin was energetic and I felt we achieved lift off during Harvest Moon. Then came the absolute POWER of Ol'Black and the two electric tunes.
I swear when Powderfinger exploded, I jumped out of my seat. Then we got broken strings and a cut hand by the end of RITFW. Unreal power from a man about to turn 80.
And let's give it up for the Chrome Hearts, this lineup is quickly climbing the charts as my favorite Neil backup band.
Way to go, Neil!
Not 24/7, dude. I've got other things to do in life besides politics. Perhaps that's something you should consider about yours.

I used to get called Richie Rich in grade school by 6-8 year old children. Hard to believe, and pretty sad actually, that you seem to have the same mentality. Not sure how often you get outside in your life, but breathing some fresh air can be a good thing. Maybe give it a shot?

Speaking of Old Black, man I actually got a bit emotional looking at Neil’s strap. All these years it’s been there, all worn and faded now….

Well thanks to a late night call of nature was prompted to try the livestream and connected just as Neil started Earth Girl.
So the voice was a little shakey at times but the guitar playing was so strong and the Chrome Hearts really seem in tune to handle the occasional wobble. After the disappointment of the cancelled Euro tour it was just great to see Neil playing “live” again.
Stayed awake for Willie too - someone I confess not to know a great deal about- and that was a fine set too.
Note to Neil, if you tour again consider Willies seated band arrangement. I’d rather have 2 hours of seated playing than an hour standing. Hey the CSNY acoustic circle worked fine in the 70s too so how about revisiting that.
The interval videos from young farmers was also powerful stuff. I happen to resell cheese on the local village market circuit here in Berkshire UK and meet a lot of young local producers trying to find their way in the face of corporate overkill. We need these smaller producers who want to have human interaction and not just sell sell sell.
It’s now 5am here so better turn in again, Happy Farmaid all

Neil ripping those strings off during Rocking in the Free World was out of control, what a gift that set was. Farm Aid 2026, thank you for the memories!
I enjoyed Neil's set after wathcing it this morning on the replay, but I don't know if I'd say it was the highlight of the day. I think Margo Price had a more energetic presence throughout her set, with a magnificent final song covering Blaze Foley's Oval Office.
Crazy just how present Willie still is and his voice still so strong. He's 93! I mean, he's nearly 20 years Mellencamp's senior, but sounded much stronger.
It was fun seeing Thrasher enjoying himself, esp singing along to Jack and Diane. Hold on to 16 as long as you can....
