"Corduroy Plants": Concert Film of Neil Young's 2025 Tour w/ the Chrome Hearts
"Corduroy Plants*"
"Corduroy Plants*," a concert film of Neil Young's 2025 Tour w/ the Chrome Hearts has been posted to Neil Young Archives. (*Not a typo. On opening track "Daddy Went Walking", Neil mis-sings "Corduroy Plants" instead of "Corduroy Pants".)
The film -- directed by Daryl Hannah -- contains eleven of the album "As Time Explodes" thirteen tracks and is approximately 68 minutes.
"If most artists of Young’s stature had created a concert film and released it for free to the fans, there would have been some sort of promotional campaign along with social media posts. But Young stopped using most social media platforms due to their connections to the Trump administration, rarely grants interviews, and didn’t even send out a press release.
It was left for fans to discover for themselves on the Neil Young Archives."
Plants with a velvety leaf surface? A factory that produces corduroy (probably Chinese owned)? Does Corduroy own several plants? Do bands really rust? With the current heat wave over Europe thought turns to bubbles...
ICYMI: Really cool NYAS / Broken Arrow fanzine story NYA (I still have my membership “badge”). Sadly, very few editions of Broken Arrow survived the journeys thru my past. Simpler times.
I recall now that there was an item in one BA issue that asked that question about bands rusting. But there's no index function and I was too lazy to check the content table of all 134 numbers over at the Sugar Mountain site. Simpler times when this was published, yes, and those guys who edited the fanzine were really into it. Every once in a while their names pop up on the rust list or elsewhere, so they are still around, Neil-wise I thought and think them to be great people.
A case of digital asynchronicity. I had not seen the NYA item in "Member Central" and thought you were referring to the question "Do bands rust?" that I somehow then associated with BA. While my English is sufficient to communicate in most circumstances sometimes understanding implications is beyond my capacity as this is not my mother tongue. Again: With this on-going heat wave (temperatures well into the 100's now) we are going through the imitators' desert on a horse with no name, that includes slow perception.
Wow! Sweeet write up from RS on Real Young & Lazy Horse ( re- posted on NYA under the music tab). I’ve seen a fair share of Neil/CH cover bands. The best Horse show since, well, the Horse. @ Ragged Full Gallop!
Just finished watching Cordorouy Plants. First, I love the title and the fact that Neil is willing to poke fun at himself. That self-effacing charactersitc is very endearing and very much lacking among most "famous" people.
Enjoyed the film overall. The reediness of his voice is something that does make me cringe at times, but the musicianship is fantastic.
I think Daryl's artistic hand in splicing in footage during Be the Rain, Vampire Blues, Like a Hurricane and Cortez is quite well done. She's showing us things many would rather look away from -- the environmental consequences of our economic system, the cruelty and barbarism of past and contemporary regimes both in the US and other countries, the corruption and plunder by the oligarchic class, and the linkages between all of them. It's a heady stew. This production owes as much to her as Neil.

Neil can afford the good stuff. Not the legal dispensary “plants”.
Also really cool to mention ALL back issues of Broken Arrow (in .pdf) on the Sugar Mountain

Hundred percent 💯
The Vampire Blues is the definitive version. If you're looking you can stop .
Off topic. Has anyone else experienced ordering issues from Greedy Hand / Warner Bros Music Group? From the NYA site?
Has the rustie crowd already deducted which song in Corduroy Plants is from which venue?
@herbsworld: check out the "Members" column of NYA re BA
@Dionys huh? I ref’d earlier thread. Scroll up
