Neil Young & Chrome Hearts have been in the studio, with "8 songs recorded", per a response to a letter on Neil Young Archives.
Presumably recorded on the last full moon -- the Blood Moon -- no additional details have emerged, other than Neil is not happy. Writing on NYA | T-C, Neil Young says:
“Folks, I am so hurt for this country.
Politics today is sad and depressing for me. I can’t do it anymore. I can go out and demonstrate my feelings about it. We have the worst president in the history of our country. Every day, a bad TV show produced by DJT [President Donald J. Trump] is what we get.
Now, thankfully, once again, I’m in the studio recording a new album with the chrome hearts.
I love the songs and the feelings of life and love. Music is. So far, we have eight new songs. They make me feel.”

Neil’s been talking about how music makes him 'feel' lately and how it’s got him back in the studio.You have to wonder if that fan letter he shared with the track link at the bottom had something to do with the inspiration? It's an upbeat country-rocker that even name-checks his old friends Willie and Waylon from Farm Aid.

Neil is right, & he doesn’t need to fight, but the rest of us got to get out there for #NoKings day 3/28/26 Saturday!
Show up for Democracy, because that is what Dump is trying to kill.
The idiot king found a way to trash the whole world & he is doing a great job.
Trump is a grotesque monster, a voracious predator. He has swapped up the “No More Foreign Wars” promise for 10 more foreign wars.
You who voted for him have more blood on your hands, & you can’t just wash it off.
But you can stand up & be a man & admit you fucked up bigly by voting for Trump, or selfishness & greed. Testify.
The US is a pariah. Nobody will be friending up. We may need to stop slinging missiles at girls’ schools in Iran if we are to have a better reputation in the future.
Dump has gotten us into a real pickle in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has the power to crash the world’s entire economy by shutting down the Strait of Hormuz. What have they got to lose? We have convinced them we cannot be trusted, pretending to negotiate in good faith even as the buildup of ships, planes & troops continued.
Trump tore up the Iran Nuclear deal, & now he has nothing, & nobody to blame but himself.
Let’s prove to the world how decent we are. Enormous turnout for #NoKings day is one way we can prevail.
Trump will try to close the polls in November. Society will not let him get away with it.
To Hell with Donald Trump, rapist asshole that he is. He has done so much harm to our standing in the world. We have gone from superpower to stupid-power, & this war on Iran is the icing on the cake.
Folks, it’s been a good run. The American experiment has run afoul. Time for a massive correction.
We got left holding the bag, & it is empty. Let’s build a better world! Biden & Dump both were big boosters of Iran’s genocide in Gaza. The American political system is so broken. Blue wave gonna NOT bring health care for all, unless we demand it. And we will! Maybe after the 28th Dumpy will give up on taking over Canada!
Instead of cursing at the darkness, light a candle for where we’re going, there’s something ahead worth looking for.
