In my own back yard and I can’t even make the show. Leaky tire, pets, etc. But I will see them soon.

work hours, etc
I intended to miss the Gorge show with 28000 capacity. Most people love it but I see it as a hassle. The venue is too large to impress me. Small venues, like The Old Princeton Landing! 150 crowd capacity. Is that so much to ask? I am kidding.
When Neil swapped the Gorge for the much more intimate Chateau St Michelle winery in Woodinville, WA, I already had other tour plans hatched.
I had recently got into a Wilco show after holding up a sign that said “I need a miracle.” In under 2 minutes of holding the sign up, I had a ticket, worth $200 or so. I gave the angel with the ticket all the money I had, $15, a Jeff Tweedy book (How to Write One Song, $23 cost), and a bottle of water! It was a bloody hot day but I was all in! The Rock Gods had blessed me with a ticket to see one of my favorite living bands.
I intended to do the same trick again at the Neil Young show last night. But obstacles got in the way. I had to hurry home after work to let our dog out. My family was out of town for the night so I had to take care of the pets after work. The logistics were a bridge too far. But I never even bought a ticket so how sad could I be?
Seeing the set list might cause a twinge of regret, but I will see them play again soon.
Anyone got a report from last night’s show?

Leaky tire also, to be patched up today.
good show last night. neil's voice was rough, and he fucked up songs and chords left and right all night long, but when he dug in to that electric guitar it was mind blowing. i've been seeing him for over 30 years and have seen well over 50 shows, and i feel like he played some of the best electric guitar last night that i've heard or seen.
A great night at the Chateau St. Michelle! I had never seen a show there before, and was surprised to see how small it was compared to the Gorge. I had a "cheap" lawn seat purchased for $128.75 using the Archives link and quickly found out if you're going to be on the lawn it's best to bring a short chair for closer to the front and a taller one for in the back. I wasn't going to cough up the bucks for a rental, so I repositioned my towel up high on the lawn so I could take in the whole show, get good sound and stand and dance. Until Jerry offered me a miracle in the form of an extra pit ticket! Thank you again Jerry, great chatting with you and your brother and friend!
Neil is Real! I was so happy to be there after missing the Crazy Horse and Coastal Tours - last show was 6 years ago in Eugene! And Neil was Neil - so good to hear them lead off with rambly Ambulance Blues then see and hear Old Black and Old Strap for Cowgirl . . . I did not watch any videos of recent shows and ignored the setlist details so there were many surprises for me all night long and I don't remember another Neil Young show with such a strong theme for the entire show - something along the lines of love and activism will prevail over these dark calamitous times. The Reverend Billy and the Stop Shopping Choir fit right into the theme and put on an entertaining and thought provoking show. Check out their Wikipedia page - 27 years of activism and art. Thank you Neil and the Chrome Hearts for a fantastic high energy and musically wide ranging show! And big thanks to all the wonderful fans and staff I crossed paths with - a magical night.
