I'm really glad I went. Hummed and hawed for months (due to travel and work circumstances mostly and wondered about Neil's voice, and not wanting to have any less of an experience than at his other shows long ago). Hadn't been to a big concert in many years (Neil at the ACC in TO?) so the vehicles/traffic, crowd and noise and asphalt around Ontario Place were a challenge. Was nice to see folks picnicking socially at their cars, though. The music was Great, Old Black in particular, Ralph a rock as ever, Billy carrying on and on, Micah full o' beans. From the lawn high up, the sound was clear except when the wind blew it around, but on my way out (quite early unfortunately, before the acoustic part and encore, due to public transit limitations getting home about 3 hours north) I walked part way closer to the stage and it was LOUD (and clear). And that was still half way up. Must have been some ear challenging much closer to the speakers, but it's not distorted. Modern PA systems are so powerful and excellent. I wonder that it must be a real trip to play and sing out through such a force (could hear Old Black from almost a kilometer away). It's not the best being among lawn standers who talk all the time (why are they here?) or are on the phone, but the seats are too expensive for me. Close your eyes and sway, or enjoy the binoculars' isolation. Feckin' Up was fun, Vampire Blues surprised me and Down By the River was a highlight. Got to see the bus. The band is excellent and were having a good time. Feels good to have been willing and able to go, and to have been there in it. The guy has provided a lot of pleasure and inspiration over a great many years.

Maybe try again for the next Toronto show in July? We've heard folks have scored ticket deals day of. You really need to be down front for full show.

Thanks for reply and thoughts. Ah, the title of one of my high favourites (which I missed this time but luckily saw solo on the Trans tour at Maple Leaf Gardens). How are folks scoring these day-of? I sold a face value lawn ticket this time, which went smooth. Speaking of rail, "funny" that one beer this time sells for more than my third row seat at the Comes A Time (Rust) tour in '78 where I caught (and still have) a Ralph stick.

Awesome show! Loved hearing obscurities like Scattered & Vampire Blues & the lesser-played Don't Be Denied! But my favorite segment was the sequence of Down by the River, Powderfinger and Love and Only Love! I've never heard such an incredible & extended version of Powderfinger! Then came Love and Only Love...the guys locked into a full-throttle jam for the ages! Neil was rocking out as hard as ever and totally feeling it with his bobbing and bending up & down. Billy, Micah & Neil got into that huddle in front of Ralph's kit and just blew the roof off! It was classic. Let's give Ralph Molina some serious credit too...still rocking & carrying the ship after all these years!
I have to mention the opening set from Rev Billy and The Stop Shopping Choir too. They said in their email newsletter that Toronto was their best show together. I don't know if I've ever felt so empowered and hopeful for change as when he and the choir stepped off that stage Monday night! Billy is a hero and I can only hope more people get turned on to him and the choir. The gospel singing alone was just unbelievably powerful! Combine that with the desperate yet hopeful message and Billy leading with his super passionate delivery....it seriously really got to me. I'm hoping this tour and the upcoming Canadian leg can really turn a bunch more people on!
There was also a fun duo of buskers outside the venue....one guy on acoustic guitar and another wearing a hat who sang & played sax, accordion, violin, snare drum, etc. They were doing this fun impromptu tribute song “Mr. Young” as I walked out with my brother. Put a smile on everyone's faces waking by! I snapped a picture and recorded the audio of most of the song. You can hear all the sounds of the street corner we were standing on...traffic whizzing by, horns honking, some chit chat from my brother and I. Listen here if you'd like:

All in all, a excellent night. Grateful I was able to experience it! 🔥🐎✨
Hi Thrasher,
Made it to Toronto from Ireland for the no name stage concert.
Weather issues before concert made everyone nervous for 30 minutes but it passed.
Neil and Crazy Horse sound is so rich and deep, all those YouTube videos online can’t capture that sound.
Don’t be Denied was new for me.
F…Up and Love and only Love were amazing.
Fans were really into it, everyone got something they liked.
Keep up the great work Thrasher.
