Watching Neil Young
dancing his guitar
barefoot into the spring
That's as Haiku as it gets.
Dionys
exactly Dionys. perfect haiku
To me these are the best performances that Neil has done.
Yeah the concerts are awesome, and TV and video, etc.
But his innocence and openness in these is remarkable.
A true invite into his world and his heart. And the simple
productions with a little bit of pizazzed enhancements are
so sweet. 'Come a little bit closer, hear what I have to say'!
What a treat. A very unique human being he is.
agree SONY.
Probably the only positive thing to come out of this whole situation is Firesides.
the intimacy is pretty unparalleled and that's saying something.
we've been privileged to see ny play acoustic just several feet away -- but w/ 1000's behind us. with a live audience of one (dh), we see something truly open, inhibited and special.
a side never seen really in front of an audience.
and no shouted requests for Powderfinger!
lucky us
when fireside sessions are announced, it's a real ceremony up here...wait for darkness, light
a candle, grab a glass of bourbon, crank up the volume. So grateful to N&D for lightening up my week. I thought he had forgotten about Through my sails! such a blessing
Thank you Thank you Thank YOU

@ Dan - well, we were going to say thanks but you appear to have deleted the comment? Seemed pretty good to us. maybe try again? we always enjoy your thoughts here.
anyways.
We'll go ahead and reply that several songs are from Silver & Gold. "Good to See You", "Daddy Went Walking", "Distant Camera".
Coincidentally -- or not -- just the other day wee had a post about S&G being the perfect "pandemic"/splendid isolation album. hmmm

but a real highlight was Daryl's photography on "After The Goldrush"!
man, that line "when the sun burst through the sky" really hit it with the sunlight pouring in across the piano. wow.
all together,
thanks n&d!
Absolutely wonderful!!! Fireside IV was just absolutely fantastic....makes me want to revisit 1-3 now. Thank you Neil!!!!
A little bit more of obscurities and uncelebrited..a little bit more of slow pace intimacy...even more stripped down if possibile.
I thougth I had totally forgot about Through my sails, but impressively I spotted it from its first chords.
It's love to receive World on a string on Fireside 5, fit rather well to our situation these days..
So sad about Buddy. Any info on what happened?
Roberto - Neil played World on a String during Firesides III
@Jonathan, Yes you're right , watching it back again
