Neil just blew my mind again! What a treasure! No spoilers here but the radical reworking of one of his great electric songs into a beautiful piano ballad was the highlight for me, although each performance was a gem. I’m looking forward to getting back to real life at some point but in the meantime Neil is doing more than his part keeping me happy and entertained!
Another home run from home for Neil, Daryl, and the two dogs. I have been incredibly impressed with each session and number three is a real jewel. Seven complete performances and perfect choices to boot. I agree that the piano version of Throw Your Hatred Down was definitely the highlight, and that is saying something as each song was just perfectly imperfect. Just the way they should be. Ragged and raw material played completely in the moment.
These sessions are a masterclass in playing in the moment, and no one does it better than Neil. Anyone out there who aspires to be a professional musician should take notice on how rare it is to be so grounded in the present moment. This is where greatness is found. Perfect isn’t essential when you strive for emotional impact, creating something real and in the moment. This is when music transcends entertainment to become something deeper, something that moves the listener to a higher place of awareness. Perfection is a myth anyway.
When the session ended my wife and I looked at each other and said “ it’s over already”??? Always leave em’ wanting more. Thanks Neil, Daryl, and the two adorable dogs. Keep em’ comin’
Peace 🙏
Woke up this morning in the UK and saw that my notification feed said the 3rd fireside session was up. So, not wanting to wait, I got straight to it. And I was blown away! The choice of songs, the delivery, the light and the dog, just wonderful! What a way to start the day!
During the lockdown I've been playing my guitar so much more, and it's mostly Neil's songs, as it always has been, apart from the ones I write. I'm so appreciative of D's filming of Neil playing that it's given me inspiration to play a couple of stones I'd never considered before.
Stay safe.
Duh, should have read "play a couple of songs".
Stay safe, again.

As long these are Neil's gemstones, I also appreciate your first draft.
I am a member but don't get any notifications..How do I turn them on,
@Jampot:
NYA doesn’t send out Email notifications. You just need to check in the site for details. Sessions 3 coming soon was on the front page of the Contrarian about three days ago. You can also check in here at Thrashers Wheat, as always the latest news is right here.
Peace 🙏
@ mshare/RD - yep, Neil just continues to blow minds decade after decade w/ few signs of major rust onset or creativity corrosion.
@ Dan - maybe our livestream went 2 ways?!
When the stream ended thrashette also said “that's all?!” actually, that was the longest setlst of the 3 sessions, right?
Peace 🙏
@ Breezehillpete - very good, keep on practicing that guitar!
@ Nobody knows - Neil's gemstones are a gift to us #AllTogether.
@ Jampot - let us know how those notifications work out.
@ Dan - thanks for all of the generous guidance and thoughts during these contrarian-times.
No one has mentioned 'Break The Chain'. Once he fleshes that out into a full fledged song then it will mentioned in the setlist.
In pretty much every hat trick, it's the third goal which is the most memorable. Neil has made his Dad proud with this one.

@ Syscrusher - thanks, updated setlist above.
'Break The Chain', sounds like our freedom is on the way! free at last, free at last, thanks god almighty, free at last
@ Mister Henry - a trifecta. we are not alone. #AllTogether
Wonder why he dropped last verse on “Already One”?
"New Mama", "I am a Child" and "Already One" this song selection makes for a personal message to someone or anyone who in these difficult times is charged with taking care of the future of humankind.
I didn’t count Break The Chain as it felt like it was a work in progress, or maybe just a stream of consciousness. I hope it turns into something special.
Follow @NeilYoungNYA on Twitter and check on account notifications. It popped on my cell phone about 5hrs before it was available
outstanding, mindblowing, loveburning, .... It's impossible to watch these sessions and not wanting more and more and more
Break the chain is already in our want list and New Mama has always been and always will be in mine
Already one is to my wife, recovering from surgeon and something more to do in the next months..I love you
Throw your hatred is a message to all of us and all of "them"
And the closing frames, shot under the red sky and by the dark trees are just dreamy...
I'll be watching again these session tomorrow, and the next days as well, but I'm waiting, I'm always waiting for some more Neil.
Thanks to NYDH
Had four son's so I would always play "New Mama" whenever I got home from the hospital on that day. Great set list for #3!
Since there is a Farm Aid benefit tonight the following is not off topic but slightly here.
Just made sixty gallons of Bio Char today that was shared with others for "Victory Gardens." Just a two man team and we kept our distance. Highly recommended because maybe the term "green thumb" should be changed to "black thumb." It was used in South America 10,000 years ago according to carbon dating and is still going strong!!!
Youtube has all sorts of videos on how to make Bio Char which is hot kinda dirty work but so rewarding. The second step is to infuse it with a tiny amount of minerals but I won't go into that here.
Graham Hancock just posted this on Bio Char today on his Facebook page:
https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-52217636?fbclid=IwAR3RY0NmefgeERS5rOOPXbsHFeDGQKYIqaI_xsDEBSolaEJeiN3cUcP5ZpA
P.S. Good idea to get out in the sun and expose your skin to make Vitamin D yourself without sun screen which I was always told to do during flu season by the nurses. This appears to be flu season on steroids. In a half an hour the potential is there to make 50,000 IU they used to say if you expose a lot of skin.
@Jampot
Sorry about that, I should have made myself clearer. My notifications are from Google, anything relating to Neil comes up in my email notifications.
Enjoy Farm Aid this evening, far too late for me in the UK!
