FILM PREMIERE: Neil Young Solo - London 2008 | NYA
Now showing in the Hearse Theater in Neil Young solo at Hammersmith Theater, London in 2008.
The concert film is directed by Tim Pope and has never been screened before.

Nice acoustic set there, I was able to watch it Thursday morning.
Like it was mentioned here and in a Facebook group, it makes me wish we could watch Trunk Show! (again)
Is the 2008 show down already? The theatre is now showing Tonight's The Night from Weld.
Nevermind....just saw the whole schedule and I missed it. Oh well, good stuff to come!
@ romat73 - yes, Trunk Show has probably been one of the top mist persistent questions over the years. It was unfortunate this never had a proper release while Demme was still around.
@ Andrew - sorry we were a bit late getting this up. we tried putting together a Tim Pope post which took much longer than expected to update broken links as the internet continues to vanish before our eyes. day after day more and more content is removed.
we try and pull as much in here @ TW as we can but obviously wee can't archive and host everything with our very limited staffing and funding.
also, wee haven't figured out what the day period really is for NYA? It seems to be about Noon, EST. i.e., today, 9/6 @ Noon, Tonight's The Night from Weld started and presumably will go to Noon saturday. but it really seems to vary the start & stop times.
I *think* only the last two Hammersmith Odeon (aka the Carling Apollo) shows were filmed. These were the two extra shows that were added after the first four sold out.
Tim's film seems to be mainly the 14th March with several tracks from the 15th, the final night of the tour.
Anyway, it's very good, regardless of dates.
Scotsman.
@ Scotsman - thanks for clarification. So there were actually 3 blocks of dates, w/ 6 total.
well hopefully the electric sets show as well. Pope's film work is stunning in its intimacy.
maybe someday we'll discuss the finer points of Pope's & Demme's 2008 work?!
maybe someday you'll grow a pair and apologize to me for calling me a "paid monsanto shill"???
yeah, and maybe monkeys will fly out of my butt.
Some really great moments in that movie. Ambulance Blues specifically was really great, nice close up shots of his finger work.
Did anyone. make note of the setlist from the movie?
@ Biteme - stop embarrassing yourself with the immaturity.
@ Syscrusher - Definitely, AB was a real treat.
This is our best recall of the setlist based off of 2008-03-15 set ia SM
