You are correct Senor Keksalot - it was the best show.
Though after seeing all five of them, I prefer to look at them as one extended GIANT show, in which case they were all the best.

If your hard drive only had room for 2 of these NYCH shows, which 2 would you pick? So far I'm loving the 1st Fresno show... I'm thinking I need to hear one of these Bakersfield shows... was the final night one of the best?
Really really hard to say right now as I'm still digesting it all. The first night was mind boggling because of the "shock and awe" aspect of it being the first show and an all around great show no matter how you look at it. Following that, I might have to go for the May 5 Bakersfield show (adding When You Dance and Loner back to back to the set, and a smokin' Hurricane), but then again the grand finale show was a stunner (adding Hey Hey, My My (Into The Black) and closing with a sizzling Down By The River). Just look at the setlists and see which you prefer...they were all excellent in every way. And since every show had a blasting Fuckin' Up, they're all good! ;)
Any show that starts with 3 Ragged Glory songs, has the first Speaking Out with Billy, Ralph and Nils since 1973, then finishes with a DBTR encore is pretty much a dream come true for me. Anyone in attendance must surely be truly blessed.

Still trying to process what we experienced on Sunday night in Bakersfield. As with other peak Neil experiences was otherworldly good ... with a lifetime invested in his music to hear the soundtrack to your life played out in such a raw, powerful, authentic, heartfelt way shakes you to your core - in the best possible way ... every song was a total gem, every one the they breathed fresh life into it holding nothing back ... the heavy mix of Ragged Glory, TTN and EKTIN was breathtaking ... Neil was in good spirits, at one point Roel from Rust Radio fame yelled "speaking out" and Neil obliged (my buddy captured the exchange on a video clip which we'll try to post) ... Nils fit in beautifully, had awesome chemistry w Neil and his versatility was a huge plus, everyone played their hearts out ... impossible to truly compare this to other shows but felt as vital as any I've seen in 4 decades ... hoping upon hope that Neil takes this one on the road ...
Have to also direct massive gratitude to Neil not only for playing his heart out in a way thats unimaginable but also for the incredible tickets to his shows ... We ended up front row at Bakersfield simply because I was on his site late one night and stumbled upon a fresh bakersfield pre-sale ... and then after great seats were available for days ... in a world of ticketmaster, and stub hub and so many middle-men it speaks to Neil's integrity and contrarianism and big heart to find a way to get the best tickets into the hands of his real fans ... as I reflect upon what Neil has given us its so unique and unprecedented ... his performance art for decades, beyond compare, but the small venues over the years, the ticket pre-sale approach he's rolled out here, the archives website ... total, huge gratitude to Neil for this entire journey and for his soulfulness and incredibly big heart!!

Gotta chime in to thank Roel for the "Speakin Out" request, too. Was hoping they would pull that one out! Was lucky enough to attend Fresno #2, and it was great fun. Neil was in a great mood, and it took me back to the OPL days....

Thanks for posting the set lists and video. Speakin' Out is a song I get in my head a fair bit so it was good to know these guys played it so recently (and in good form, too)
Killer video. Great solos by Lofgren. Steamy Neil piano. Tight band. Much like the original on Tonight’s The Night. Wow!
I took my pal , Lumpy’s the drummer. He stated that the show was in his top 3, up with Hendrix and Bob Marley.
