— Marc Sazer (@marcsazer) August 19, 2014Fresh back from the just completed Europe Summer 2014 Concert Tour with Crazy Horse, Neil Young appears to be fulfilling his latest desire to record with an orchestra. Earlier this year, in an interview with Billboard, Neil said:
"I have new songs that I'm working on, and I haven't stopped doing that," he says. "I do it when I feel like it and I'm collecting them. And sometimes I play them live before they come out as a record, and because of the way everything is people hear them before they come out, on the Internet. But I still feel like I'm gonna make records of them."
"I'd like to make a record with a full-blown orchestra, live -- a mono recording with one mic," he explains. "I want to do something like that where we really record what happened, with one point of view and the musicians moved closer and farther away, the way it was done in the past. To me that's a challenge and it's a sound that's unbelievable, and you can't get it any other way.
So I'm into doing that."

— JoAnn Kane Music Svc (@JKMSlibrary) August 21, 2014As for what Neil Young might be recording? Well, if we had to guess (and we have no particular inside info on this), we'd say "Who's Gonna Stand Up And Save The Earth?", which debuted on the Europe Summer 2014 Concert Tour. Maybe "Separate Ways" and "Standing In The Light Of Love", which while not new songs, are unreleased and were re-worked this summer in Europe.
And what else might there be going on in the studio? Well, we'll have a bit more to say on all of this tonight, Saturday, August 23 at 9:00 PM EST, on the Thrasher's Wheat Radio Hour from WBKM.org.
Tonight's edition will feature concert highlights from the just completed Europe tour, discussion and news.

Brand new songs are always a possibility, but they could rearrange the recent Hole In The Sky or Singer Without A Song played live or some Nike Bolas productions as the outtake Sea Change.
So Tired.
Hole In The Sky,Singer Without A Song,Sea Change,Who's Gonna Stand Up And Change The World?,Standing In The Light Of Love,Gateway Of Love. In The Rolling Stone Interview He Said He Had Lots Of New Songs Ready To Record. Wonder If It's With The Europe Crazy Horse Lineup And The Two Lady Backup Singers? Listening To All The Shows Their Giving The Older Songs More Life. Looking Forward To Some More Studio Neil.
I was starting to worry about Neil Young and his first love the muse. Lately its been mostly about Pono, pipelines,Indian reservations, recording booths, electric cars, books, paintings etc. Yes I know he was on tour but that was to help pay the bills for all that other stuff. Still feels like the muse is taking a backseat as of late.
Recorded both with orchestra/choir, and with Chris Walden's big band (Waddy Wachtel on guitar for that one). Neil appeared to be playing a uke in one of the orchestra photos. Niko Bolas back as producer.
He hasn't done anything to promote csny 74.Not an
Interview, not a word.
In my opinion, it means that he has approved this release, but he didn't like it.
So Tired.
