U2 Covers Neil Young's "Southern Man" - 1987
This video goes all the way back to 1987 of a young band named U2 covering Neil Young's "Southern Man".
There are a number of lyric changes in the cover in London, England on the UK TV program 'Old Grey Whistle Test' (listed as 1981.02.28).
This was during the The Joshua Tree era, and U2 performed two songs from The Joshua Tree and finished with "Pride" and the cover of "Southern Man".

Wow, this version really sucks..! Too complicated for U2 to play. Thats my opinion.
You should post the version of Southern Man The Allman Brothers did. It's on youtube.
It seems to me like he just totally forgot the lyrics and started spouting whatever line he could half remember!
