"Cinnamon Girl" - Neil Young: Live At The Cellar Door
Here is the much anticipated track "Cinnamon Girl" from Neil Young's upcoming release Live At The Cellar Door, 1970.
Most are very familiar with the heavy Crazy Horse electric version of "Cinnamon Girl". But this is solo on a Steinway grand piano.
“That’s the first time I ever did that one on the piano,” Neil says at completion.

Dom't know hoe legit this is but there is talk on the steve hoffman forums that volume 2 is not getting a "physical" release and will only be available on Pono and on "computer". Appearantly this is straight from the horses mouth.
Looking foward to live at the cellar door though, looks like its going to be better than i first thought.
Shakey indeed. Probably the last time he did it on piano too. Not good! Just listen to that audience reaction at the end! They were more excited at the beginning of the song when they thought he was playing "After the Goldrush". Young Neil sure has a pretty voice though! Get it? Young Neil!? Ha.
So no Vol 2 on a "physical" release? Guess that just leaves the computer then. Pono will never see the light of day. Peace!

Well, i love that cinnamon girl. Beautiful voice even it's look like "fragile". Can't wait for the CD or vinyl Live At the Cellar Door.
Thought it was big news what i posted about about archives, ok maybe not.
How can you not like that performance negative man? wow.
Neil is still going to release the Ducks album (which will be included on Vol. 2) on vinyl. Rest assured. And it's going to be amazing! Just a matter of WHEN...
This version of "Cinnamon Girl" sounds great, but it's not enough to get me to buy this release. It should be part of Archives Vol. 1, and the much lauded "extra content", being released when they uncovered it.
This is a very interesting and revealing take because it shows how Neil hears the essential musical structure, when there aren't six other hands to complete the picture. His voice sounds good too here. Kind of relaxed but resonant.
Do you hear that clicking sound, particularly in the heavier passages. Makes me think the Neil's fingernails were too long for the piano that night.
