Pearl Jam: Vote for Change? 2004 Tour Film w/Neil Young
There are a number of Neil Young related items in the Cameron Crowe (Director) documentary Pearl Jam Twenty, including band members discussing him, footage of Neil backstage alongside Jimmy Page and Robert Plant at the induction to the R&R hall of fame watching Eddie Vedder give his introductory speech, as well as concert footage from Dublin 95 and Bridge School 2010.
In the bonus disc for the PJ20 box set, there is full footage of Neil and PJ performing Walk With Me from Bridge School and RITFW from Dublin 95, the latter certainly from the produced but never released footage Neil was putting together from that tour.
Above is Neil on the Vote For Change 2004 tour playing Cortez and Watchtower with Pearl Jam from Pearl Jam: Vote for Change? 2004 Tour Film. (2nd clip segment)
In 2004, Pearl Jam was one of seventeen musicians who took part in the Vote for Change tour - caravanning through battle ground states to Get Out The Vote. An indie film crew made up of Jeff Ament's filmmaker/ skater friends (see sixstair.com) documented the experience. They captured portions of each of concerts, the crowds, on-the-street interviews, and behind-the-scenes footage leading up to Election Day 2004 - all in 8mm film.
The footage includes Neil Young at a soundcheck in Toledo, Ohio doing "Cortez" and with Pearl Jam on "All Along The Watchtower".
Thanks Matthew!
