10! Thanks Thrasher! You do Love us!
Jeez what a great collection! I'll have to go with Interstate even though it's one of the less interesting videos ;) I don't think it is from Farm Aid - haven't compared but I think it is the Broken Arrow/Big Time cd version recorded in 1990?
ACL !!!yes!!! guess that will be on NYAv3...(sigh)unless I find my VCR tape...

Interstate: I'm pretty sure that performance is from '85 with the International Harvesters but it was not performed at Farm Aid in 1985. Here is the setlist from Tom Hambleton's Sugar Mountain site http://www.sugarmtn.org/year.php?year=1985
1985-09-22, Memorial Stadium, Champaign, Illinois, USA
Farm Aid 1
w/ The International Harvesters And Nicolette Larson
Are There Any More Real Cowboys? / My My, Hey Hey (Out Of The Blue) / Heart Of Gold / This Old House / Get Back To The Country
Wonderin' is such a clever video I had to go for it. Although it may not be the best song, the question was best video.
I've never been a fan of music videos. When I hear music I make my own connection to it. The events in my life, or my emotional state when hearing something for the first time. Music is so powerful in that way; it can take you back to a moment in time. For me anyway, videos are a distraction.
There is another video of this song--another version on Youtube that is hauntingly beautiful. It sounds like someone had to fill in a line though--which is odd. If I could hear Neil sing "interstate" in concert I would be okay to die the moment after. Thanks for the site folks.
I voted for Johnny Magic. For me it represents Neil doing what he does best... following his muse.
For sheer video production, and in your face "you want rock and roll, here you go Geffen Records", I've gotta go with Wonderin'. Tough choice, tho.
Greg M (A Friend Of Yours)
wow I had no idea he played Interstate live. I've only heard the other version on Youtube (which is incredibly incredible). I wish I had a copy of that original Interstate!
I voted for "Thrasher", it's my all-time favorite and I just noticed that many think so too.
Love, Liza
Thrasher is Neil's greatest song. The lyrics are so strong, there's only Dylan to touch him.
I'm certainly hip on 'Thrasher', as I think it's near the top of the hill, but I voted for Helpless as this Waltz through it is a bit haunting, IMO. And "Wondering", that's just plain fun.
You left one of Neil's best videos off the list - "Touch the Night." Neil plays a TV news reporter covering a traffic accident. You have to see it to appreciate it. Check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXmiwjKx_Cs
Dayton Dave,
I hear you.
A couple of things for a do-over. Actually, these clips were randomlyu selected by LAWeekly and I tweaked them.
I really should've left Thrasher out tho.
Yeah, TTN is a great video by Tim Pope who did Wonderin also.
Maybe we'll do this again someday...
e2f,
Yep, you're right. Interstate is from unreleased Farm Aid EP, 1985. Not FA concert itself.
Great tune and amazing guitar work.
Nice strings too.

Thrasher,
why do you say you should have left "Thrasher" out?
Because it's just the song that is great, the video itself isn't that remarkable?
Greatest video performance ever?...well it's the same song....it's either Neil and Pearl Jam at the MTV Video Awards or the Saturday Night Live version, both of course of RITFW!
I agree Folkrockin, maybe the video is light. But the song soars. Very strong lyrically, imagry and delivery on the LP. I think it didn't make the CD from the Rust Movie cause he forgot the words there a little.
Maybe the REAL poll is what is the 'BEST' Neil Young song EVER, though Neil himself said there is no 'best' in music.
I have been asked why I play so much Folk Music. I tell 'em its all Music, Folks.
I had to go with Back To the Country.I have a soft spot for that one being that was one of the first times I REALLY got into Neil.I was hooked.I caught this on Live at Austin City Limits on PBS in '85 or '86 I think.Watched it with my mom.Good times. Thanks PBS.
