In Memory of Johnny Marr: 1961 - 2009

Neil Young at Bridge School Benefit Concert - 2008:10:26
Earlier this year, we lost a great Neil Young fan -- Johnny Marr.
In the most recent issue of Broken Arrow Magazine (August 2009, #115), Editor Scott Sandie wrote a very deep heart felt obituary to the late Johnny -- truly one of the great unsung Neil fans -- who passed away so sadly at the age of 48. Scott brought Johnny's story to life as he looked back at the many contributions he made to the Broken Arrow and the Neil community through his photography and collecting. A very big loss for us all.
Johnny's family has requested that donations be made to The Bridge School -- a cause which Johnny was truly devoted to.
Here's a look back at some more of Johnny Marr's covers for Broken Arrow magazine:
- Broken Arrow Magazine - May 2005 (#98)
- Broken Arrow Magazine - November 2006 (#104)
- Broken Arrow Magazine - November 2008 (#112)
Johnny, we'll all be thinking of you this weekend at the Bridge School concerts.

Jah bless.
I thought it was about the english guitar player, first.
Me, too! Sheesh.
Probably a good idea to point out that this is not the Smiths related Johnny Marr.
RIP Johnny
Yes, please point out that it's not The Smith's Johnny Marr.
RIP to this Johnny though.
Let's all rejoice that it wasn't the Smiths guitar player, instead it was this "lesser" Johnny... what a load of rubbish.
If you're in the Shakey community you tune in to who this person was in relation to Neil, hence you wouldn't need to even utter the "jah bless" comment, or "RIP to this Johnny though"
I guess some of us are Shakier than others, good for you.
I'll try to focus more exclusively on Neil and forget about the rest of the world.
This weekend I met Johnny's widow Mary at the Bridge concerts.
She is a wonderful person who is trying to keep it all together as she grieves Johny''s passing.
This post is in memory.
Please keep in mind how she feels reading this when you write these things.
Words do matter.
peace
to the anonymous:
If you interpreted my Jah Bless as relief that the other one was alive, you don't understand the phrase.
