Great blog you've put together here. It's very unique, there are only a handful of acoustic guitart blogs that I like to visit. I will be back to check out what you asre up to

The "gentleman walking up the stairs, top right, in striped pants" looks to me like Johny Barbata, OUTSTANDING drummer with the Turtles and later with CSN&Y. The Buffalo Springfield opened for the Turtles sometime someplace. I was 12 years old in 1966 and followed all this stuff in the teen magazines...getting old now, so you won't hurt my feelings if I'm wrong. I LOVED those skinny striped pants...I saw Bob Seger in my hometown at some little park venue when he was just getting popular here in Michigan and he was wearing them! Carol in Michigan
I think it's Richie Furay under all that hair.

Very cool to see this photo.
I was there! Buffalo Springfield wasn't on the official line-up; they were a surprise performance. They blew me away. While I came to see the Stones, and loved them, I went home just as moved or more by this new group ...
It's Richie Furay.
I was there that concert.
There were these 5 giant black and white photos of the Group hanging off the shell. I have not been able to find a photo of that concert. I turned 18 that summer and a friend's older brother from a USC fraternity said he could get us jobs as security guards. Yeah! We had to wear LAPD-type uniforms with a tie. :( At 7AM we reported and they took us up to the top of the hill where the residences were. :( We were to keep people from sneaking in. 12 hours later it grew dark and we were overwhelmed by people running through the yards. (Get this) I was taken down to the front of the stage and sat on the stage to keep any girls from swimming through the fountain to get at the Boys. I saw the whole concert 10 - 20 feet from the musicians. :)
The next time I saw them was at Altamont.
I was at this concert. Screaming was so insane you could hardly hear the songs.
Mick walked out to front of stage singing "Little Red Rooster" and did the unthinkable...threw his tambourine into the middle of the audience. Needless to say it was like dropping a pebble into a sea urchin...it was amazing no one got hurt as the sea of humanity groppled for this gem.
Truly a memorable night!
Buffalo Springfield booed off the stage that night. I was therr
I remember the booing as well, but really loved the Buffalo set and became an instant fan. The screaming wasn't so bad that you couldn't hear the Stones, at least where I was sitting. My parents took me and I was about 12 years old, lol. Huge Stones fan and seeing them do most of Aftermath was a dream come true.
